At The Library, chapter 10
‘Brother, sister. No no no’, Pip said shaking her head as she walked out of the hospital wing. Billie walked out with her and followed her as she walked into a spare wing.
‘Billie, the tests have stuffed’, Pip said, giving him a hug. Billie looked at her trying to smile but it was no use.
‘No, I think they’re right’, he said calmly. Pip looked at him from in his arms and didn’t know what to say.
‘Billie, they can’t be. You’re blood related, I’m only a friend’, she said in hysterics. Billie-Joe made her rest her head down against his chest before she started to speak to her again.
‘They might have mixed, they might be real. The only person who knows for certain is Joey and well, I don’t think he’s going to be very willing to talk to’, Billie told her, making her calm down. It didn’t seem to work though, all she managed to do was work herself back up again, and start crying heavily. Billie kissed her lightly and held her in tightly before they were interrupted.
‘Hey Billie, we heard about Tim’, Mike said, walking in on them. They quickly moved away from eachother, but not quick enough to not let Tre catch them.
‘Is it true you guys saw it all?’, Tre asked, brushing over what he just saw.
‘Yeah’, the both let out, sadly. Pip flicked her eyes over all three of the men who were in the wing and then walked out. Tre decided to follow her out, leaving Mike and Billie alone.
‘Oh just great, now Tre’s going to kill me’, Billie let out, taking a seat on the spare bed. Mike sat up next to him and talked to him, so that he wouldn’t work himself up over something that he didn’t need to.
‘Listen Billie, right now all you should be thinking about is your brother. Pip and Tre can sort out all their stuff by themselves’, he told Billie, which made him relax a little more.
*Outside the Hospital*
‘Tre’, Pip said, crying into him. Tre kept her close and comforted her when he could as best as he could.
‘Pip, shh, it’s alright, don’t work yourself up’, he told her, letting his hands run up and down her back.
‘No Tre its not. I should have been honest with you’, she told him, wiping back tears from here eyes.
‘No I should have. It wasn’t right that I played you on like that, I’m sorry’, he told her; spilling all the truth she wanted to know.
‘No Tre, it’s my fault. I let my feelings take over and they did. They shouldn’t have’, she told him, holding back anymore tears that needed to be.
‘Shh, it’s alright. Darling, it’s alright’, he told her clasping her hands and holding them up. He brushed the hair out of her face and looked as deep into her eyes as he could.
Billie and Mike decided to go find them, so that they could give them an update on how Tim was going. As they stepped outside, Billie stopped Mike from going any further. They listened to the ending of the conversation Tre and Pip were having.
‘No I always will’, Pip let out.
‘Then it’s alright’, Tre told her, giving her a final kiss. Billie let out the deep breath he was holding, and slid himself down the wall.
‘Mate you don’t know what they were talking about. I could have been anything’, Mike said, trying to get Billie to stand back up again.
‘No Mikey, he got his girl back, and anything we had is gone’, Billie said, bringing his knees up to his chest so that he could put his head down. Pip and Tre came around the corner a few seconds later.
‘Billie what’s wrong?’, she asked, taking a seat next to him.
‘Nothing that you could understand’, he told her. Pip was taken back and looked at Tre who walked Mike away so that the two could talk.
‘Billie, don’t be like this, I have the best thing to tell you’, she told him, cuddling up to him. He stayed all defensive for a while.
‘What, Tre and you are together again?’, he said wearily. Pip played with his hair for a while before she told him an answer.
‘No Tre and I are not together anymore, and I love you more than ever’, she told him, kissing him lightly. Billie’s eyes widened and started to relax, as he felt a trickle go down his front where Pip’s arms were tightly wrapped around him.
‘But there’s just something that I can’t live with, and well that’s a lie, that I’ve lived with forever’, she told him as the trickle began to run down more and more.
‘Pip, don’t please, you cant not now’, he told her, holding her in his arms as if she was the last thing that meant anything to him.
‘Billie, please I don’t want you to talk like this. We’ll talk in the morning, right now I’m just tired and restless’, she told him, kissing him again; before she moved and sat between his legs leaning back up against him.
‘Pip, don’t I want you to stay here’, he told her, watching the red trickle soak out of her clothing and into his.
‘Billie-Joe’, she said softly turning her head to kiss him again before she rested it on his chest and closed her eyes,’ We’ll talk about it tomorrow’, she finished telling him, falling asleep into his arms.
But for Billie he would have to wake up alone as for Pip ‘tomorrow never came’....
