At The Library, chapter 3
Pip got up from her seat and made her way up the stairs. All of upstairs was dark and she couldn’t make out where she was treading.
‘Ouch’, she screamed, walking into something before screaming after it made a groaning noise. She knelt down to the floor hoping to find the light switch on the way down, but instead she crashed into the moaning figure again.
‘Pip would you watch it’, Billie exclaimed in pain. She managed to find him in the darkness and sat him up against the wall.
‘Billie I’m sorry I didn’t realise, I can barely see anything’, she told him, trying to keep his torso upright against the wall. He started to slip slowly from side to side. Pip could feel his heart beat starting to rise.
‘Tim…TIM’, she called from upstairs. Tim slowly made his way up the stairs and turned the light on from the switch near the stairs. He walked over to them, and knelt down beside them.
‘Tim, can you carry your brother to him room; he’s like not feeling well. And ahh, I’m kind of small and I cant do it’, Pip told him, nervously saying each word. Tim looked over at his brother and then looked down almost as if he was afraid to say something.
‘I’ll get Joey. He’s like bigger than me and well he’ll be able to pick Billie up’, Tim said, calling for Joey. Pip took Billie’s hand again and started lightly rubbing it. He smiled sweetly before Joey made his way up the stairs.
‘What do you 3 want?’ he asked curiously, looking down at them. Pip stuttered before Tim took over in asking Joey to carry Billie to his room.
‘Joey claims to be bigger than Billie in more ways than one’, Tim told Pip. The two giggled like elementary kids, before Joey put Tim in a headlock. Tim fought back for a moment before Pip told them to stop acting childish.
‘Well its Joey’s fault. He said it’, Tim said, taking a few steps away from his brother. Joey looked down at him before he picked up Billie from where he was seated.
‘Well it doesn’t mean you have to repeat it’, Joey told him, walking Billie off to his room. Tim looked down at Pip and started to turn a shade of light red.
‘I’m really sorry about all that’, he told her, apologising for also nearly whacking into her while they were’ play fighting.
‘Listen its alright’, she told him noticing he was going pink.
‘But’, Tim continued, ‘He did say it’. Pip giggled for a while and stepped forward about to walk down the stairs. Tim got a hold of her and started tickling her sides hoping she would play along with the game. Pip turned and did the same to him, making him burst out into a fit of laughter.
‘Please, stop’, he screamed during his out breaks of laughter.
‘Stop what?’ she asked continuing to attack him.
‘That…ahhh’, he told her, trying to wiggle out of her grip.
‘Whats that?’, she asked making the game last longer. Eventually both of them gave up after a period of time. Tim put his arms around her, and slowly Pip gave in and hugged him.
‘Aww, your so nice, and…’ Tim said, becoming silent.
‘And what?’ she asked him. Joey returned from the room and cut down though their conversation.
‘Like the only girl to talk to him’, he mumbled quiet clearly. Tim put his head down in shame.
‘Tim, its alright’, Pip whispered to him, still hugging him tightly. She didn’t seem to notice what she was doing, but it seemed all right at the time.
‘Come on Tim, your still a virgin’, Joey teased him. Tim’s eyes started to become pale, and he seemed to loose interest in what was actually happening. Pip noticed and changed the conversation.
‘Ahh, Joey is Billie alright?’ she asked, looking at him with eye filled of worry.
‘Yeah, yeah he’s fine’, Joey told her, giving her a kiss on the cheek, ‘Well goodnight then’, and he finished before he walked off back down stairs.
‘What was that all about?’ Pip asked, looking back at Tim. He tried not to make eye contact with her.
‘He’s just doing it to get to me’, Tim explained. Pip yawn for a moment before she realized she still had a hold of Tim.
‘Ahh, are you going to bed?’ she asked him, slowly stepping away from him.
‘Not, I usually stay up till dawn’, he told her. She looked at him with amazement.
‘What?? You don’t go to school?’ she asked curiously. Tim nodded.
‘Its kind of weird, I don’t like it, so I just don’t go’, he explained to her. Pip seemed a little stunned for a moment before she smiled at him and walked away.
‘Pip wait’, Tim called from the hall. She spun around and looked at him.
‘Do you want to like sleep in my room? I mean like I’ve got a bunk and all’, he explained to her turning a lighter shade of red once again. Pip smiled sweetly, and thanked him.
‘Yeah, just let me go get changed and tell Tre I wont be with him tonight’, she said before the two parted out of each other’s sight.
-A half hour later in Tim’s room-
Pip walked in all dressed in her night outfit. Tim sat up on the top bunk singing along with what sounded like some pretty strange music.
‘Nice voice you got’, he complimented him. He blushed and smiled, before he watched her get into the bunk underneath him. He swung himself down and tried to start conversation with her.
‘So… you go to the same school the guys do?’ he asked her. She smiled from under the covers.
‘Yeah…tell me, why don’t you go anymore?’ she asked him, wanting to know. She could understand if he didn’t want to tell her. Tim sat back from where he was and took in a deep breath.
‘If you want to know, you have to come up here’, he told her...
