At The Library, chapter 7
Pip turned around slowly expecting the figure to be one of authority, who was probably going to be give them a detention for what they were doing. Maybe even expel both of them. Instead though it was one she was happy to see for them moment.
‘Tre..’, she squealed getting up from where she was and throwing her arms around him. Tre lifted her up and kissed her on the cheek, sweetly.
‘I thought you had given up on this shit’, he told her, taking the joint from her mouth as he dropped it to the ground and stepped on it. Pip looked at him, a little nervously before she gave her answer.
‘Well it’s addictive. I couldn’t help it’, she explained to him, hugging him to make her excuse both look and sound genuine, ‘So, you ended up coming to school’, she pointed out.
‘Yeah, I needed to find Billie’, he let out slowly. Billie looked up at him in shock. A few days ago, Tre didn’t even want to know him, and now he wanted to converse.
‘Me?’, Billie asked nervously. Tre nodded before he let go of Pip.
‘Its about your brother, he’s ahh, this could sound kind of weird’, Tre managed to get out before the bell rang.
‘He’s what? Ah, tell me later I have to get back to class’, he said picking himself up, giving Pip a kiss on the cheek and walking off. Tre glared at him as he walked away from them.
‘How could you let him do that?’, Tre asked viciously. Pip looked up innocently at him.
‘Do what?’, she asked, reaching down for Tre’s hand. She linked their fingers together and started to walk Tre away.
‘Let him kiss you’, Tre pointed out angrily. Pip calmed him down and ran her fingers though his hair.
‘It wasn’t a kiss, he was just whispering something to me’, she told him convincingly, ‘Now before we have to part for class tell me what’s wrong with Tim’.
‘He’s in the girls change rooms’, Tre let out, ‘He’s been flushed and just left there. Looks like he’s going though a rough patch or something you know’. Pip nodded and hugged Tre before she said anything else.
‘I’ll meet you at home after school alright?’, she told him. Tre acknowledge this and gave her a hug in return before he walked off.
-The Bathrooms-
‘Tim, how could you let them do this to you’, Pip asked him, forcing him back under the hand dryer so that his shirt would dry.
‘Cause I couldn’t do anything about it’, he explained to her, as she pushed him once again, under the dryer.
‘What do you mean Tim? Anyone could have helped you. Who was it that did this anyways?’, she asked him. Tim looked up for a moment without saying a word.
‘Those gothic guys. You know the ones who hang around with Joey’, he told her, ‘They, they got me for him. So it makes it look like he’s innocent when he’s really behind the whole plot to kill me’, he finished explaining.
‘He’s not trying to kill you. He’s your brother he loves you’, she told him, rubbing his shirt so that it would dry quicker/
‘He’s not my brother, not if he’s doing and planning things like this’, he told her sternly.
‘Okay, just relax, we’ll sort this out’, she told him, trying to make him smile. He kept serious until he was ready to move from the dryer.
‘So, tell me what’s wrong’, she asked him. He looked at her for a further moment.
‘Life. And it’s nothing you can help me with’, he managed to tell her cutting off anything else she could say to him. He picked himself up from where he was and started walking to the door.
‘Come on, I don’t want to talk about it here’, he told her. Pip understood and walked away with him.
‘So where are we going?’, she asked him.
‘Home’, he told her walking to his locker to get his bag. Pip did the same and the two left the school un-noticed. On their way home Tim decided to start being a little more open.
‘Tell me why Joey hates me’, he said out aloud. Pip looked up at him and fixed her bag.
‘I can’t answer that’, she told him looking down to the ground before her.
‘Then tell me why he doesn’t ever hurt ‘pretty boy’ Billie-Joe’, Tim went on.
‘I don’t know, I can’t give you an answer for that’, she told him focusing her eyes on the ground again.
‘I thought you could help me?’, he questioned her. She looked back up at him, confused.
‘I only said I could help you. I didn’t say I could give you answers to what you wanted to know’, she told him seriously. He pulled his shirt up slightly so that he could show her the newly cut scars on this torso.
‘That happened at recess?’, she questioned him. Tim nodded and opened up the front door for both of them to enter as they came up to the house.
‘Oh look who it is?’, Joey said evilly as the two walked into the house. He was sitting on the lounge with a few of his mates, ‘The scar boy’, he finished off laughing. The other men laughed away as well before the started drinking again. Tim became teary and walked off to his room almost crying.
‘Oh look, the little girls crying’, Joey pronounced loudly, as they went into a fit of laughter again. Pip looked at them all with disgust.
‘How could you Joey, he’s your brother. You can’t treat him like he’s nothing’, she told him, walking out the room to try and find Tim.
‘Don’t tell me how to treat him’, Joey said to her. It came out almost as a threat, but she took no notice of it. She walked down the hall ad stood out the front of Billie’s room, where the two boys were speaking.
‘Shh she’s here’, she heard Tim mumble quickly to Billie. The pair looked up at her as she walked up to them.
‘You alright? You shouldn’t let him treat you like that’, she told Tim, rubbing his back gently. He went a shade of light pink before she tossed it away and his eyes started to change into a blue sea of rage.
‘Ah I can’t help it. Stupid jerk trying to be my father. Trying to act like one. He doesn’t know that I don’t want a replacement of the one that died’, Tim let out. Billie’s mouth half dropped and his eyes darted down to the ground.
‘Ahh Tim, could you let me talk to Pip a lone for a moment’, Billie asked his brother nicely. Tim rolled his eyes and nodded listening to his brother.
‘I’ll be in my room, listening to music if you want me’, Tim told them both walking off. Billie waited until he was out of hearing range before he began to speak.
‘Pip, there’s something you should know about Tim’s dad’, he told her...
‘Tre..’, she squealed getting up from where she was and throwing her arms around him. Tre lifted her up and kissed her on the cheek, sweetly.
