It was Friday afternoon, the very last day of school, and also the night of the prom, and Jovie could tell that Billie Joe was very excited about it, and she couldn't help but be a little happy for him and also nervous. It was the night girls and boys lose their virginity, a very big step, especially since Jovie, Zooey, and Emily were all virgins and all knew exactly who they wanted to lose it to! It was in itself, very nervewracking.
"I swear to you Jovs," said Billie Joe, staring into her eyes and nothing else. "I will get to your house first!"
Mike and Tre were both staring at Jovie, at every part of her body but the decent parts. Mike laughed.
"Jovs, you've seen me run, so you know I'm gonna get to your house first, so plan to look really hot for me babe!"
"Jovs," said Tre, staring at where her breast were supposed to be, but werent, "I'll see you gal."
Zooey and Emily rolled their eyes, but Jovie laughed at all three of them. "Well, I love all three of you and all and I love to get dressed up, but, I am not getting all dressed up all nice and pretty for the prom for two reasons. Number one being, that is exactly what our peers expect and I live to let them down, and live past their espectations, and number two, is because, just because I agreed to go with one of you guys, does not mean that I am not going to at least show up at Dave's for the ant-prom party, Because I am. He is still a great friend and I am not staying at the prom that long anyway."
Zooey shook her head in confusion, "What?"
Emily smiled and put her arm over Jovie's shoulders, "That's our girl, bound to be the punk rock goddess that willl lead our nation out of the oppression that we now face and into a wiser stronger nation. Vote Jovs for president." Then Emily looked at the guys and Billie Joe in particular, "Would you vote for Jovie?"
Billie smiled, "Oh yes." Jovie looked down, unsure of what she would do if he was the first one at her house.
On their way home from school, Emily and Zooey were trying to convince Jovie to tell them what her prom dress looks like, because despite what she told the guys, they knew she would dress up, because she always does.
Emily looked down at the clothes she was wearing, "Okay, why won't you tell us?"
Jovie shook her head, "Em, Zoegirl, it requires a lot of work and I want to suprise people. "
Zooey looked at her best friend, "Well at least give us a hint then, brat."
Jovie smiled, satisfied with their anxiousness to know, "I can promise you it will confuse some people, it will make a statement, it will be remebered, and I can guarentee you that it is not something anybody would consider wearing to the prom."
Emily stomped up and down, pretending to be mad, "Well, I can honestly tell you the same about mine, I better get started now it is gonna take forever, bye Jovs, see you there! Good Luck!" and she ran to her house.
Zooey stopped to talk to Jovie alone before she started to get ready, "Jovs, I just want you to know, that even if you do end up with Tre, I will probably end up stealing him from you."
Jovie smiled, "I know,"
Zooey smiled, "Good," and she began to walk up the walk up to her house.
"Zo," shouted Jovie.
Zooey stopped and turned around, "What?"
"Good Luck."
Zooey smiled, "Like wise." and she went into her house.
"So who is taking you to the prom?" asked Roxie Ramone, Jovie's big sister.
Jovie smiled and told her sister the entire story. When she finished telling her Roxie sighed.
"Jovs, I don't even see you guys and I know that Billie Joe is in love with you. Why can't you see that?"
Jovie looked into the mirror at herself to examine herself. "How do I look?"
Her sister looked at her little sister in shock, she was beautiful. Even though she was flat as a pancake and had no hips she looked beautiful. It was however, very weird.
"Why are you going to the prom dressed as madonna? She's a slut and you know it. Why did you cut your hair and purposely dye you hair blonde with black roots?"
Jovie(same outfit as Michele Weinberger in Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, except fitted to escentuate her flat chest and non-existant waist) had dyed and cut her hair the part and everything.
"Who is taking you?" asked Jovie suspiciously.
Roxie rolled her eyes, Jovie knew that her boyfriend was taking her, but she answered anyway. "Gerard Way."
Jovie made a gagging noise, "You are too beautiful for him."
Roxie rolled her eyes and their dad Jason, and two of their uncles, Dee Dee and Joey walked in.
"Jovie, you know that I have to meet you date before you leave." said Jason.
Jovie rolled her eyes, "Yes father dearest, what about Rox's date?"
Jason shuddered and so did Dee Dee and Joey, they all didn't like Gerard very much, especially because of his weight problem, but, as much as they didn't like him he posed no threat, and Jovie knew that. And that is why she was not suprised when they did not answer her.
Roxie refused to leave for the prom until she saw who got to the door first. She had to know.
"Think it'll be Billie Joe cause he has been in love with you since forever and always, Tre cause he's horny, or Mike cause he's desperate?" asked Roxie.
Jovie did not know, she was about to say something when the doorbell rang three times.
"Man," said Jovie, "Whoever got here first, sure was desperate."
She opened the door to see who it was and then slammed it so fast that Roxie did not get a chance to see who it was. She stared at the terrified expression on her sister's face and then smiled.
Jovie leaned up against the door and Roxie pushed her out of the way to see who it was. As soon as she saw who it was she slammed the door and leaned up against the door next to her sister.
Roxie looked at her sister shocked, "You are in big fuckin trouble, you know that."
Jovie, trying not to cry, nodded.
"Dad is gonna want to..."
Jovie nodded. She was so dead.
