Misery, chapter 1

"GINA!" Vinnie cried, outraged. He stood without a shirt in the door of the halfway house. He ran out after the girl who had just ran off into the shadows.
"YOU WILL GO BACK TO PRISON FOR THIS GINA!" The door of his old Cadillac squeaked loudly on its rusty hinges as he wrenched it open. He peeled out, leaving long skid marks on the road, as he chased after her. Taking the corner a little too fast, the car fishtailed briefly and he straightened it out as the girl turned into the dead end alley. He grinned evilly.
"Gotcha"

*GINA'S P.O.V*

Gina fumbled with the door of her halfway house and wrenched it open as her parole officer stumbled down the stairs after her. I have to get out of here! She thought to herself as she skidded onto the street and began running. She heard him shout after her but didn't slow down a pinch. Her heart hammered against her chest as she made wild turns around nameless street corners. She was blinded by a pair of headlights as she turned into an alley. Shit. Dead end.

*VINNIE'S P.O.V*

He turned the corner after her and cut the engine, opening the door, preparing to reason with her. He squinted into the dark but couldn't see her. Turning the key in the ignition slightly, he shined his headlights into the alley once more. All that was there were big dumpster. The perfect hiding spot.

*GINA'S P.O.V*

Gina crouched behind one of the two large dumpsters just as Vinnie's Cadillac turned the corner. She saw an abandoned baseball bat and gripped it tightly, standing up to prepare for him. Bright lights illuminated the brick walls on either side of the dumpster, leaving two big strips shadowed. She heard the approaching footsteps of her parole officer and gripped the bad tighter.
He shadow got steadily bigger as he got closer. Four white knuckles gripped the edge of the dumpster and a pale face with black hair dangling in it popped around right behind them. Gina swung the bat with all the force in her body and felt it reverberate with a hollow thunk as it collided with his forehead. Vinnie stumbled back and Gina squeezed out from behind the dumpster. He was swaying back towards his car and she went after him again, swinging the bat unconsciously. It struck him around the temple and he fell like a ton of bricks, heavily on the hood of his own car.
Gina stared, horrified, just realizing what she had done. Great I was just going to jail for disobeying parole for drugs! Now I'm going for fucking homicide! Gina struggled to get him back in the car and then took off into the night, still carrying the baseball bat.
