The 924 Gilman Street Project, chapter 2
The green-eyed punk strolled down Gilman Street, hands in pockets...his eyes searched for some of his companions.
"He-ey Billie! What's up?" his fellow band mate called out to him from the side of the Gilman Project building. Billie pulled one of his hands out of his pocket and waved, as he walked over to his friend.
"Nothing much John, ya know, just the usual." He replied.
"Where's Mike? He isn't asleep still is he? That lazy-ass." John chuckled.
"Naw, he's just taking his dear sweet time, he should be here any minute now...Ah see! There he is! Hey Mikey!" Billie yelled. Mike was moseying on down the street, and as he heard Billie Joe calling him, he raised his middle finger, mouthing 'fuck you'. Billie and John both laughed. The trio engaged in the 'boys will be boys' type of conversation almost immediately. After all, they had a good hour or so to goof around...

Walking down Gilman Street were the two girl punks, laughing and chattering.
"Hey Tim! See ya at the gig!" Mel yelled across the street to Tim Armstrong, who happened to be the lead singer of their favorite band.
"See ya there Mel!" He yelled back. "Trout Dance?"
"You know it!" She replied waving. The two continued down the street, approaching the Gilman Street Project building.
And there it was.
Standing there in all of its beauty and glory. To Billie Joe, Mel, and 85 percent of the teenage population in Oakland, that's what it was. The brick structure, worn and graffitied... by years of use. This was the source of all excitement. As Mel approached, the excitement was still brewing, especially as she joined the group of twenty or so punks lined up against the wall.
"MIKEY!" her friend yelled running up to a tall lanky kid with long hair.
"Molly Hey! I haven't seen you for a while! What's new?" he said grinning like mad.
"Nothing much, Im stoked to see Operation Ivy... " She said flirtsy. Mel and Billie Joe, who had yet to notice each other, rolled their eyes at the same time.
"Me too, I hear their going to put out an EP." Mike said
"No Way!" Molly exclaimed... still flirtatiously.
"Woah, uh, they like each other." Mel heard someone whisper into her ear. Slightly startled she looked level, to a pair of light green eyes. Her blue ones were lost momentously in his.
"Y-yeah. I think so." She blushed a little. This guy was kinda cute. He had long-ish redbrown hair, curly, and stuck under a hat.
Billie noticed her pale face flush a little.
"Soo... ," Billie said, trying to break the silence. "I see you like Operation Ivy... " he said smiling
"Yup! I've known Tim for a few years, and I've been seeing Operation play almost every weekend. I love my guys." She giggled.
"Huh, I didn't know girls liked Ska Mel." Molly teased. Mel jumped up and wildly hopped on Molly's back. The two girls wrestled and giggled.
"Girls love Ska!" Mel sreamed giggling, sending the two guys into fits of laughter.
"Do they?" Molly laughed
"HELL YEAH! HELL YEAH!" Mel screamed grabbing a bit of Molly's hair.
"Don't worry Billie, they always act like this, they are two of the craziest girls I know." Mike whispered.
"Why haven't you ever introduced me to them?" Billie asked smiling, keeping his eyes on the silly redhead who, was now rolling on the sidewalk violently laughing. The other girl was leaning against the side of the building trying to stand up straight, without falling over laughing once more.
"Uh, because, you can't have Molly, that's why." Mike said turning a slight shade of pink. Billie Joe raised an eyebrow.
"What about the redhead. Is she taken? You can't have two girls ya know Mike, jeez! You need to share man!" he joked. Mike punched him in the arm.
"C'mon Billie...honestly. You're interested in Mel?" Billie nodded slightly. "Well," Mike continued "She's the weirdest, coolest, funniest girl I know. And when I say weird, I mean Tre weird."
"HEY! I HEARD THAT!" Said a blonde kid running up to meet with them.
"But the point is, get to know her first. She could be one of the coolest girls you meet. Except Molly is the other cool one, and she's mine."
"Damn..." Tre said snapping his fingers.
