Can't Take It, chapter 6
When they went back to court, Mike was almost praying. He wanted to win Kiki so bad, but Lisa and James seemed to be winning. He had a good lawyer and all, but why would the judge choose a punk rocker who was never home to have custody over a kid who needed attention to become familiar in life and all? Adrienne wanted Kiki as much as Mike did, remember, Adie was the one who found Kiki and brought her into her home.
The days went by and there was no luck for Mike, but one day it all seemed to change. A lady ran the courtroom. She ran to the front and did that thing where you promise to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" James blurt out. He knew who she was, she was Miranda, his ex wife.
"I know you are not the right father for this girl James. I knew Lisa shouldn't have married you, but she did. I warned her, but she never listened." Miranda said. She saw a frown coming across Lisa's face; Lisa knew she made a bad decision.
Miranda started stating all the bad things James did, how he beat her, yelled at her, cussed in front of and at her. The judge had herd enough. Now he knew, James and Lisa wasn't the best home for Kiki, but he wasn't satisfied that Mike Dirnt's was either.
There was much bickering and yelling in the courtroom, when suddenly, Miranda stated one thing that changed the judged mind. When he heard this he knew James and Lisa couldn't take a little girl.
"He does bad things to her. Things that I should not be repeating in front of children."
Readers, by now you should know what I am trying to say, and I am not going to say it cause I am in my teacher's classroom right now and he would call my parents if he saw what I was writing. (Yes I am seriously in my teacher's
class. He is cool and lets people go on the computer) now back to the story.
With that the judge declared that Kiki was sent to live with Mike and the rest of Green Day. Everyone was so happy (well... except for Lisa and James of course). Mike hugged Kiki so tight, he didn't want to let go.
Everyone went home, and yes, James was sent to jail for such terrible things he did to his daughter. Well, yes they are happy, but not for long. Something terrible will happen.
