But I Love Him...Don't I?, chapter 11
I started to trudge upstairs, but mum stopped me before I could get any further
"Okay missy, you've got some explaining to do!" she said, one eyebrow raised. I sighed.
"Mum, I'll explain tomorrow I am REALLY not in the mood right now! I just need to get some sleep!" I said half shouting.
"Do not, use that tone of voice with me! I am your mother and... "
"Yes and I am your daughter, WHO NEEDS SOME SLEEP!" I shouted running upstairs and slamming the door before my mum could respond. I always argue like this with my mum. But after all of today I just broke down in my room, crying my little heart out, arguing with my mum just seemed to have released a lot of mental energy, and I needed to let some of it go. I started trashing my room, throwing all my pillows against the wall and I smashed a frame with me as a three year old in it. I started screaming into my pillow. I then stopped, and when I looked at my pillow, two little smudged lines of where my mascara and eyeliner had run. I walked across my room and picked up the picture of me. I loved this picture. It had Sam and me in it. (The girl who disappeared) I was sitting on my floor my back against the wall holding the picture and looking into it, when my dad walked in. He did a double take when he came in though.
"Uh... why have you made such a mess?" He said. He saw my blackened eyes, and went
"Oh" quietly.
"So you going to tell me why you shouted at your mother?" he asked sitting down beside me.
"It's just, lots happened today and I don't want mam nosing through all of it and me having to tell her what happened because it'll make me even more upset!"
"Well... sometimes it helps to talk about these things" Dad said. I raised my eyebrows at him.
"Not with mum it doesn't! He looked thoughtful.
"Hmm, suppose not" he said nodding. I laughed. My dad always made me feel better.
"Thanks dad" I said. He kissed the top of my head, just like Billie had done.
"It's okay Charlie" He said, and walked out of my bedroom.
BILLIE'S P.O.V
I arrived back to the hospital to find Adrienne still holding Joey's hand. She looked up at me when I walked in.
"The doctor came in while you were gone, he said that if Joey keeps recovering as well as he is, then in about two to three weeks he'll be allowed to go home" she said smiling feebly.
"Great."
"What took you so long by the way?"
"Ah well... .See Charlie's mum was hitting on me and Charlie was upstairs texting someone and she took while and Charlie's mum kind of freaked me out and before that I had to talk to Charlie's dad so you know" Adie just widened her eyes, taking it all in.
"... So everything is okay then," she said laughing.
"Pretty much," I sat down next to her,
"Are you staying here with him?" I asked. She shook her head, the doctor said we couldn't because there are no more spare beds we could use plus the doctor said he would only give out spare beds in an emergency but since Joey is recovering there is no need"
"Ah, so when do we have to go home?"
"Right... ... .Now" She said getting up. I kissed Joey on the forehead and Adie and I walked out, hand in hand, thinking about what could have been.
