Baby-sitting for Green Day!, chapter 6
"So what kind of music do you like?" Adie asked.
Well, Billie Joe already knew that I liked Green Day, but did he really know I was... obsessed? Grr... I have tried so hard to avoid this question, but you know what? Just forget it. Here I go.
"You know, rock." Crap, stupid answer.
"Um... any particular bands?" She hit the nail right on the head.
"Yea, a few."
Oh, what the hell. You only get one life.
"I love Green Day. My favorite band. Then there's Panic! At The Disco. My second favorite. Then just a couple others but those are pretty much it."
Okay, that was nice to get off my chest. Billie Joe just cleared his throat.
"Um... so, you like Green Day? That's cool." Billie Joe said.
"Can I have more milk please?" asked Jakob.
What a cutie.
"Oh yea, sure." Said Billie Joe, as he was getting up to get more milk.
When I looked at Joey, he looked away. I noticed that he was staring at me throughout the whole dinner. It was amazing how much he looked like his father; from the hair, to the eye-brows, and the clothes he wore. I really couldn't wait to start baby-sitting.
Well, by the time dinner was over, it was only about 8:45. It was the summer, and I don't think I needed to be home anytime soon. I was having such a good time. Jakob came over to me and took my hand. He started to lead me to his room, I think.
"What do you want to do now, Maxine?"
"Uh, I don't know. I will let you decide." He looked like he was thinking hard. It was quiet for a moment.
Almost too quie-"AHHHHH!!!!!!!" I screamed. Joey had snuck up behind me and scared me.
"Joey, you scared me!" all he did was laugh.
The two of them just laughing at me.
"I'll get you back you know!"
"Oh really? C'mon then!" Jakob yelled.
I started to chase him around the room. I finally caught up to the speed demon, and started to tickle him. He started to laugh so hard, his face turned bright red. I stopped.
"Jakob, you okay?"
"AHH!!" he started to tickle me now. HHAHHAHAHA, so ticklish! I fell off the bed with a loud THUMP. They were just laughing. Soon Billie Joe came in.
"Hey! Is everything ok in here? It's as loud as a concert in this room. And there are only 3 people in here." We all started to laugh this time.
Hehe, I love this place. I could tell I would be spending a lot of my summer here.
"Hey Jakob... you gotta start getting ready for bed, kiddo. Its getting late for you."
Wow, I never would have thought that Billie Joe would make his kid go to bed that early in the summer. There is probably a good reason anyway.
"Awww, do I have to daddy?"
Poor Jakob.
"Yea. Sorry, but a dad's got to do, what a dad's got to do."
"Ok." Jakob came running up to me. "In case I don't see you, good night! Please come back!" he gave me a hug. He was adorable.
About 10 minutes later, Billie Joe came back from Jakob's room.
"Hey, Joey and Max, you guys wanna catch a movie?" Joey and I looked at eachother.
"Yea." We both said in unison. Weird...
We started getting ready. I should call my mom, I guess. It would be a good idea. I dialed the number and waited for an answer.
"Hey mom, it's me."
"Oh hi. How's it going?"
"It's great; I'm having so much fun. And the kids are awesome."
"Good, glad to hear that. So when are you coming home?"
"Well, Billie Joe wanted to take me and Joey to a movie. Can I go please?"
"It's kind of late, don't you think?" AH, she has to let me go.
"Ugh, mom, PLEASE? It's not every day that I get to do this. Billie Joe will have me home right after it ends. Please? Please?"
"Uh, ok. Fine. But please be careful?"
"Of course. Thank you so much. Love ya, bye!"
YESS, I CAN GO!
I walked over to Billie Joe and Joey. "Ready to go?" Billie Joe asked.
"Mm hm!" I was so excited!
"So what are we seeing?" Asked Joey.
"I don't know, but I was in the mood for something scary. What do you think?" Billie Joe said. I could definitely see anything right now.
"Fine with me." Joey said. Then they both looked at me.
"I could see anything right now." They smiled. Soon we got into a cab, and were off to the movies.
