Wake Me Up When The Handbells End!, chapter 1

"Tell me again why we're here." Lisa said.

"My parents promised we'd help out." Said Hanah.

"But why? What could possess them to do such a terrible thing?"

"I don't know, I think they just wanted to get away from my grandparents. You know, the usual reasons."

"Well it's stupid, I hate it here. All these hand bells surrounding me, it's torture!"

"Calm down, I have a plan to get us out of here."

"Really? What is it?"

"Mike's gonna call with an 'emergency'."

"Oh, well that won't work."

"It worked last time."

"Yeah, but if we do it again they'll get suspicious."

"Suppose." Hanah paused for a second, "We could fake illness."

"Yes, that'll work." Lisa said sarcastically.

"Well what do you propose?"

"Who's proposing?" asked a voice behind them.

"Ahhhhhhhh." Cried Lisa and Hanah, turning round together.

"Oh, its you." Said Hanah.

"Billie what are you doing here?" Asked Lisa.

"We have an emergency, Mikes in hospital." Said Billie Joe.

"Why is Mike in hospital?" Asked Hanah.
"He fell down the stairs and broke his leg." Said Billie Joe.
"That was clever of him." Said Lisa.
"Oh shut up," said Hanah, "he probably didn't do it on purpose. Is he alright?"
"Calm down, I was only joking." Said Lisa.

"It's alright. Sorry I snapped."

"Mike's fine, he has a plaster but he really wants to see you." Said Billie, turning to Hanah.

"Okay, I'll just go explain to my grandparents." Said Hanah, walking off to find them.

"Looks like we got our escape route." Lisa muttered to herself.

"What?" Asked Billie Joe.

"Oh, it's just that before you got here Hanah and I were thinking of ways to escape."

"Oh, why?"

"Cuz we didn't want to do this concert thing, we were forced to."

"Ahhh. Poor you."

"Why is Lisa poor?" Asked Hanah, rejoining Lisa and Billie.

"Never mind," said Lisa, "lets go." with that Billie, Lisa and Hanah went to see Mike in hospital.
