I entered the driver's seat of the car, and looked back at the lawn: I saw some blood crossing it, but not a lot.. And when I looked at the leather seat that I had sat on, I saw that a drop of blood was dripping onto the seat every few seconds. My blood.

I stared, transfixed at the wound in my side. But, you know what's weird? I didn't feel any pain at all. The doctors (after I was admitted into the hospital) told me that I had probably gone into shock at that point, but I think differently.

I put my keys into the ignition, started the car, and put the Jaguar into drive. I drove down my driveway, paying no attention to the navigation system that turned on: I already knew where the hospital was.
