Chumps And Chumpettes, chapter 14
Another couple of days had passed, and it was my turn to do some shopping.
"Don't go... " Whined Billie, grabbing my wrist. "We don't need supermarket food, we'll order out."
"Billie, this would be the fifth time in a week that we order out. We are going to get very unhealthy. I'm going shopping."
"Fine." He said. "Just hurry back, okay? I need some company."
"What about Mike and Tré?" I asked.
"No fucking clue of their whereabouts." He replied with a shake of his head. "Besides, I want you."
"Fine. I'll be quick then." I said, smiling.
"Do you want a lift? That way, you'll be back quicker." He said.
"Sure."
He drove me to the supermarket and handed me some money. "Hurry back." He said, giving me a soft kiss.
"I will." I replied with a smile. "Oh, before I go, any particular foods you want?"
"Buy a pizza." He said, and I rolled my eyes. "You sure you don't want me to wait for you?"
"No," I said "I need some exercise."
"Okay. Bye bye!" He said reluctantly, he waved and then he drove off.
I wandered around the supermarket, trying to pick up healthy stuff, but at the same time taking three pizzas out of the frozen aisle. I also took various vegetables like mushrooms and cucumbers. I rounded the corner of one aisle, and ran into a girl in a pink t-shirt, nearly dropping an onion in the process.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I said, bending down to pick up the onion.
"So you should be." I heard a snobbish teenage voice say. I didn't so much as look at her. "Erm, I don't suppose you've ever seen the lead singer from Green Day here have you? I heard he shops here."
"How random" I replied. I stood up and was confronted with blonde hair and a t-shirt that said 'Billy-Jo is hawt' on it. I shuddered involuntarily and grimaced.
"Um, yeah. I think he just went round the corner, into aisle 5." I said.
"Really?" She gasped and then pushed past me.
I giggled to myself and proceeded to the checkout.
I was walking home, humming to myself when I was tapped on the shoulder. I swung myself and the bags around to face Mike.
"Hey." I said, smiling.
"You going to Billie's house?" He asked.
I nodded enthusiastically. "Me too." He said. "Here, want a hand with those bags?"
"Yeah, thanks." I replied. "Hey, I tricked a teenie today." I mentioned.
"Good for you!" Said Mike, with a laugh. "I love tricking them too. Once, I told them that Billie Joe was in New York for a month, and I gave them a fake address to go to. I think they went and tried to find him."
"Didn't they try and mob you? I mean, you are a member of Green Day too."
"Nah, I don't even think they know my name properly. They're mainly interested in Billie."
We talked a bit more for a while, until we reached Billie's house.
"Just so you know, we're NOT getting a take out tonight." I said, reaching to get my keys out of my pocket.
"Erm, I don't think you're going to need keys." Mike said, pointing with his free hand towards the open door.
"That's weird" I said, taking my hand out of my pocket. "He must have forgotten to shut it properly or something."
"Hello?" I shouted into the house. "I'm back! And I brought Mike with me!"
When there was no reply, I looked at Mike and he shrugged his shoulders.
"Maybe he's upstairs?"
I dropped the shopping in the kitchen and went up the stairs to Billie Joe's room. I pushed it open, and whispered: "Billie? You in here?"
I gasped at what I saw. "MIKE!" I yelled. "Come quick!"
