Living This Crazy Lie, chapter 3
The doctor eventually did come in to look at us, and, after another wait, he came back in to tell us we had lost a lot of blood (duh!) but that we would be alright.
"Are we alright enough to go to the concert?" I asked, hopeful. I did eventually clean my face, and, despite the cuts and bruises, we were all not too shabby looking.
"Yes, I think so," the doctor said, smiling. "And since you obviously don't have a car anymore, we would be glad to let you ride in one of the ambulances to Everett." We all grinned at each other. Luckily, I had grabbed my purse while getting out of the wreckage that was my car once upon a time, and so I had the tickets and passes with me. We thanked the doctor and walked outside to climb into an ambulance again. Let me tell you, we got to the concert hall with NO TIME TO SPARE. We dashed in to take our seats, which happened to be right in front of the stage. Our clothes were minorly damaged and stained with blood, but what did we care? We were at a fucking Green Day concert! We weren't in serious pain, we were right in front of the stage and I swear Billie Joe winked at me. Or did he wink at Nate? I know he winked at someone in our general direction. We got backstage after the concert, still a bit lightheaded from bloodloss. Nate was soooo hyper, she was spinning around in circles. I laughed and pounced on her back, and she still tried to keep spinning and we both fell down in a tangle of arms and legs. Billie and another person laughed and helped us up.
"Oh my fucking God!" I said, looking at the person who had helped me up. Billie Joe laughed and nodded, as I babbled incoherently, seeming to understand said incoherent babble. Super Billie shook his head and laughed at me and my teenie-like actions.
"I am NOT a teenie," I said, glaring at Super Billie, then laughed. Tre walked up behind Billie Joe and looked at our bloodstained clothes.
"What happened to you guys?" he asked incredulously. (Augh big word)
"Minor car crash," I said. "I'm just thankful we're ALL here. I'm gonna miss my 'Stang, though..."
"You're lucky you don't have to miss us!" Nate said, poking me in the side.
"Awww Jebus, I love you too," I said laughing and nudging her back. "And you know I'd miss you too, Super Billie," I said, jumping on Super Billie and hugging him, wrapping my legs around his waist.
