Amy's Adventure With Green Day, chapter 15

He held it to his mouth and took a breath.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen." He said, sounding like a television presenter. Billie gave me a confused look, I just shrugged my shoulders. This wouldnt be the first time that the audience was called upon tonight, this had turned out a lot different to what I expected, but a lot better too. If this whole night hadn't happened I wouldn't be where I am right now, and exactly where that is, I will tell you later.

"We are in a difficult situation at this moment." Mason said. " For those of you that have not been involved in this whole experience, let me just tell you the basics, My sister... well, half sister as we just found out, Amy and I have today: broken into a Green Day concert, met Green Day, have caused a few problems with them to get us in, such as riots and break-ins, been chased around by security guards, caused an illegal mooning, got kicked out of our house, and almost got shot. Yep, just another day in the life of Amy and Mason. Mostly Amy I think."

The crowd laughed and cheered, the big screen camera was focused on Mason so everyone could see him.

"But now," Mason said, his tone turning serious. "The fucking authorities are about to fire the man who has stood by Green Day and protected them for so long, just because he doesnt have the papers!"

The crowd angrily roared, I could feel the energy and anger building up all around me. People started pushing others around and it started to get a bit more wild, the calmest spot was where we were standing, in the middle of a circle of people. I could see what Mason was trying to do. Once again, we were trying to overpower the authorities with the power of a riot of 60,000 people. I was hoping it would work again that time.

"Everyone calm down!" A deep voice echoed around the stadium. I looked around to see where it was coming from. I couldnt see anyone but Mason with a microphone. The crowd looked around, seemingly just as confused as I was about where that voice was coming from. I figured it must be someone backstage, but what they said had helped, the people had calmed down and were listening to see what else the voice had to say.

"The gates have been locked and no one is to leave the SCG at this moment. We need everyone to calm down, and STAY calm, if this is obeyed, your behaviour will be rewarded with the paid for Green day concert."

I looked over at Green Day, the three of them were looking around, just as confused as the crowd.

"Ok, thats it!" Mike said and took the microphone from Mason. "What the fuck is going on here?" he asked the voice.

"Good evening Michael." The voice said calmly. "We need everyone to remain calm or Steve will most definitely be removed from the service and your lives."

"You do not control our lives!" Mike yelled.

"Maybe not, but maybe so, I need you to explain what has happened just then with the shooting." the voice said.

"First you have to tell us who you are!" Mike said.

"I am the manager of everything that goes on in the SCG and this is very serious, we will need to question you, Mr. Wright, Mr. Armstrong, Miss and Mr. Thompson, Mr. Smith and Mr. Davids." the voice said, the crowd had been silenced.

I gave Billie a confused look.

"Steve Smith and John Davids." he said softly. I nodded.

"Yeh, okay." Mike said, " But in case you haven't noticed, there are 60,000 people waiting to see us perform and I dont think that they will go home in a hurry and without a fight." Some people nodded in agreement.

"Then your show will be performed later on tonight, the questioning will not take long, and if it takes longer, we will have to continue it after the show." I realised that the manager did not want a huge riot to break out and was trying to keep the rockers under control.

"Okay." Mike said and turned to us, he indicated that we go on the stage and from there walk backstage. I followed Billie Tre' and Mason through the mass of people and up the small set of stairs guarded by security. I noticed that Big Jonno had gone. I wondered where Steve was, and noticed that he was talking to Mike who was still standing in the crowd. Mike was obviously telling him to go to the stairs we had walked up only moments ago, while Steve seemed to be wanting to tell Mike something. I saw their mouths move but no sound come out, well, there probably was sound coming out but I just couldn't hear it. The audience was now softly talking amongst themselves. I heard snippits of conversations.

"She almost got shot and is walking around like nothing happened..."

"I wonder what Mike and... ummm... oh yeh, Steve, are talking about..."

"This fucking sucks, I want Green Day, and soon..."

I smiled to myself, once again I realised just how hardcore these fans are. They are not going to give up, but then again, neither would I, neither have I... neither WILL I.

"Come on." I heard the bouncy voice of Tre' say, I turned to see the man himself standing before me, one eye squinted closed against the bright lights. I walked with him, along the right side of the stage and through an opening between two temporary walls. My eyes had to adjust to the sudden difference in light and it took a few seconds before I could see clearly. The stage must have been VERY brightly lit because this room was not at all dark.

"Come with me." A deep voice from our left said. There was a small, thin man standing in a door opening to a stair well. His voice seemed unsuitable for his looks. The man turned and walked through the doorway and down a set of black iron and concrete stairs. We followed him, all of us were silent, even Tre' who still seemed excited about being reunited with his son. Billie stepped down the stairs with his brow furrowed in deep thought. Mason kept his eyes down, I think he was still a bit shocked from the shooting.

The thin man led us to a darker room, it contained tens of television screens, which showed the SCG and the activity going on inside it. It showed the place in the mosh pit where not even three minutes ago we had been standing, I noticed that mike and Steve were not in the mosh pit any more. Just then we heard footsteps behind us and Mike and Steve walked into the room, they seemed a bit shocked, following them was Big Jonno, helped along by two paramedics, who put him in a chair in the corner of the room. There was a desk against the right wall.

"Take a seat" a voice said from in the shadows behind the desk, a man rolled forward in a computer chair and placed his hands upon the hard oak of the desk. We all sat in the wooden chairs provided. The paramedics left, I looked over at Big Jonno, he had a bandage wrapped around the top half of his leg, he didn't look too badly hurt.

The man behind the oak desk turned on a small table light, we were suddenly in a small pool of light, I noticed that he was looking at Mason and I.

"Please explain everything to me." He said.

And for the second time that night, we explained everything to the last detail, with help from Green Day ofcourse. The manager smiled every now and then, and told us that he had seen quite a few of the events on the security screens. vents such as Tre's riot, us breaking in to the hallway, uniform room, and running around the mosh pit, he had followed the whole sequence of events leading up to this massive problem. Then he asked the question that was on everyone's mind.

He turned to Big Jonno who was sitting in the corner, eyes alert and kind of shifty.

"Why did you need to speak to the band so badly that you felt the need to hold Miss Thompson hostage?"
