We Will Run Away Together Hand In Hand, chapter 2
"Yeah, don't worry about it though." Rebel answered and grabbed her bag from the conveyor belt, "I can't believe mom sent my guitar over without telling me"
"That's yours?! Billie Joe's been... Oops"
Rebel and Taylor looked at each other then back at the guy. The guy he'sitated for a moment then lifted his shades up. The girls instantly recognised him as Jason White, one of the guitarists of Green Day's American Idiot tour. Rebel's jaw dropped to the floor as Jason replaced his glasses.
"Oh... My... God" Taylor said, "Er... I'm Taylor and this is... "
"About to die, Rebel to normal people." Rebel interrupted, "I er... Suppose we should get back over there... See you later." she said then sprinted off
"What was that about?" Jason asked
"Oh... We're both massive fans of Green Day and I guess seeing you is a bit of a er... "
"Shock?" Jason asked finishing Taylor's sentence, "She's going to get a bigger shock when she finds out I'm your cousin."
"You what?" Taylor asked, "Oh my God that's totally awesome! Er... Come on we'd better go back."
The car journey to where they were staying was one filled with chatter but Rebel and Taylor were looking out of the window thinking of what was going to happen next. All the way there Rebel was saying 'This is not happening' in her head and pinching her arm every few seconds. Just to make sure she wasn't dreaming or anything.
Just then the car turned on to a side road then went through some gates. The house looked massive, was painted cream and had a balcony on the front of the house. Taylor recognised the house from somewhere on T. V but wouldn't tell Rebel in case she got her hopes up. Rebel's black hair was covering her face whilst Taylor's purple hair was up in a high pony tail. Rebel pressed herself up to the window admiring the house that was just outside the car door.
The car stopped at the top of the driveway, the engine was shut off and everyone got out of the car. Jason walked round and opened the door on Rebel's side of the car. Rebel slipped out of the car then grabbed her bag before Jason closed the door. Taylor got out of the car and stood next to Rebel gawping at the house.
"Come on girls, Ollie's going to be waiting for you" Jason said then the penny dropped in Rebel's head
"This is Billie Joe Armstrong's house." she said
"Finally got it then." Jason laughed walking past Rebel and Taylor carrying their mom's suitcase
"Oh Jesus... I need to use the bathroom." Rebel said then went inside
She ran upstairs, found the bathroom and locked the door. She was breathing hard and fast from the shock. Rebel's heart was pulsating so badly Rebel thought it would explode. Her head was becoming light so she stumbled to the sink and turned on the tap releasing cold water into the basin. After splashing her face with some of the water from the tap it finally hit her, Billie Joe Armstrong was going to be in the house, with her, breathing the same air as her. He'd know that she exists, that they walk on the same planet. Trying desperately to avoid a panic attack Rebel sat on the bath and put her head in between her legs and inhaled deeply.
Meanwhile downstairs Taylor was sitting in the living room watching Lost with some other strangers that claim they were in her family. She wondered to herself where Green Day were exactly, they knew that she existed, Mike knew she was on the planet! Were they in the house somewhere or were they out somewhere? This all seemed a little weird to her, where was Rebel? Also where was her bass? After some debating with herself, Taylor decided she was going to look for her bass when she got bored. By the looks of it, she knew that time was going to be soon. Just then Sheila walked in and looked around noticing that only one of her daughters were in the room.
"Taylor where's your sister?" she asked
"She went up to the bathroom when we got here." Taylor replied, her eyes never leaving the TV screen since Dominic Monaghan was on
Rebel walked out of the bathroom and saw her precious electric guitar leaning on a door. She walked over to it and picked it up, holding it in her arms. She inspected it for any dents or lumps that shouldn't be there. Even though her idol had touched it didn't mean that he could break it. Rebel took the black and yellow Fender Telecaster, opened the door and sat on the bed in the room. She found a plectrum in her pocket and began to play a random guitar riff, which turned into the full version of 'I Caught Fire' by the Used.
Downstairs Billie Joe was in the basement studio with Mike and Tre. They had just recorded a song for an album to follow up 'American Idiot'. They were all sitting around talking about the family of Jason's that were coming to live in Billie's house. They reason for them staying in Billie's house was that Jason's house was getting fumigated for either cockroaches or something else like that. Neither of the guys knew who these people are but yet Billie let them stay.
