What Are You Going To Do, Billie?...Kill Me?, chapter 6
She ran down the stairs as fast as she could, each step with each tear making her heart pound with stupid thoughts she kept thinking.
"CALI! WAIT UP!" She heard his voice chase after her. She ran out into the crowd not stopping. She could feel him chasing after her.
"MOVE!" She screamed, tears crashing down on her wet skin. Everyone that was in her way moved, so she pushed forward as fast as she could.
"Hey Bill! Great-" Some fan tried to say, but Billie kept his eyes on Cali. He pushed his way through the crowd, watching every move that she made.
She finally got to the front and slammed the door open and ran out, dragging her feet along with her. She was finding it hard to breathe. She ran across the wet grass, the rain falling down on her. She found her way onto the street, now she had lost the strength to keep running. But she couldn't let him come near her. As she heavily dragged her feet to move she heard him coming.
"Cali!" He yelled out as he searched through the darkness.
She kept going forward, she felt the sudden urge to look back. But she didn't. She tiredly jogged along the street.
His feet hit ground with the road, she was in his sight. She was almost at the end of the road. He picked up his pace and raced down to her.
She heard his fast footsteps getting closer and closer. She tried to run... But she couldn't... The fear just caught up with her.
He finally got right behind her, his breath becoming faster and faster.
His hand lay on her shoulder, forcing her to stop in her tracks.
"Cali... Just... Please..."
She couldn't turn around, her heart racing making her breath hitch. She was shaking, the tears coming crashing once again.
"Just leave me alone..." She managed to say, but just barely. He could feel the fear from her running up his hand up to his veins. Every inch of her was shaking.
He turned her around. His eyes locking with the dark brown from her red eyes.
The street light giving them some source of light. She felt rage just burst.
"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME!" She screamed. He didn't obey. He brought both his arms up to her and wrapped them around her. She roughly struggled, hitting him with tough slaps on his chest.
"FUCK OFF!"
She struggled, sadness making her voice crack.
"It's okay... Just calm down... Please..." She couldn't struggle anymore. His touch was making her slow down. She kept on hitting him but becoming slower and weaker with every hit. Her breath heaving as she cried. She finally stopped and her head weakly rested on his chest, he rubbed her back.
What was he doing?
"Why are you doing this to me?" She said with tears flowing down, every time she took a breath it would hitch in her breath.
"I don't wanna do that to you anymore..." He said looking down to her. She kept her eyes closed. She clenched his shirt, and took a deep breath before pushing him back, away from her.
"Just leave me alone!"
Damn tears! Then Billie felt that anger rush through him.
"YOU KNOW WHAT! I TRIED TO FUCKING DO THIS BUT YOUR JUST A FUCKING BITCH!" He screamed at her.
"AND WHY, BILLIE? WHY THE FUCK DID YOU WANT TO MAKE THINGS DIFFERENT AFTER ALL THE FUCKED UP THINGS YOU FUCKING DID TO ME?!" She screeched back.
He looked down, losing some of the anger he had.
"The first time I ever saw you... I thought you were worth talking to... It took me forever to get the fucking balls to go up and fucking talk to you!" He yelled. She looked at him, not understanding.
"What the fuck!" She yelled. He closed his eyes, and tried to say something.
"When you had no friends... And you were at the library by your self... I saw you that one time, and for some fucked up reason I wanted to know who you were. Everyday I saw you, I finally got the balls to talk to you,"
She remembered that. She saw him run his fingers threw his hair, before continuing.
"Remember when I first started talking to you?"
She nodded.
"Well... I started to like you more and more every time we talked. And when I couldn't take it anymore, I asked you. But you said no... And then you got all your fucked up friends and everyone liked you. And I don't know why I did all that to you. I just hated you,"
She listened to what he had to say, but wasn't impressed with it.
"SO YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT YOU KICKED THE SHIT OUT OF ME BECAUSE YOU HAD A 15 YEAR OLD CRUSH ON ME AND I SAID NO?!" She yelled at him. He looked at her, not knowing what to say. "That's just so fucked up I don't know what to say to you.." She paused. "YOU'RE A FUCKING CHUMP! That's NOT a fucking reason to beat someone!" She stepped slowly back. "You know what Billie?"
He looked at her. He could feel the rage rush back in him, his breath got heavy.
"What?"
"FUCK. YOU!"
He felt himself burst and the next second his hands were grabbed onto her shirt pulling her closer as he brought his fist up. As he did that she couldn't breathe. One tear fell, his teeth were clenched. So much rage, hatred, jealousy, just all crumbling into one big burst. She looked into his smoking green eyes, the light making them glimmer. His eyes landed inside hers... It floated away, the burst of anger... Left. The next thing his grip soften and his eyes becoming a lighter shade of green, the tension in him slipping away.
Her eyes welling up with tears, she took one last look and turned around. She started running as fast as she could. But this time he didn't chase after her. He stood there... Emotionless. He watched her go from his sight.
She ran away from him, the stupid tears wouldn't stop.
"WHY THE FUCK DOES HE DO THIS!?" She screamed out. She kept running, the small pebbles on the road rushing away from her feet. What is going on with him? One minute he says sorry and the next he wants to punch the living daylights out of her.
She found her self in front of her home. The last place she wanted to be right now.
She dragged her feet to the front door. She slowly opened it and peeped in to see where everyone was. The house was dark and empty, her family probably fast asleep by now.
She slowly walked across the living room and walked up the stairs, being careful not to make a sound. She stopped for a second and wiped away the wetness from her face, her whole body was wet.
She made it to her room, went in and closed the door. She changed out of her wet clothes and into her something that was dry and clean. She fell onto the bed, pushing her thoughts away and drifting off to sleep.
***
"Tre!" She screamed as he chased her, they were both laughing. Tre was lying onto of her, kissing her neck softly.
"I love you Cali..." His icy blue eyes making shivers run down her spin.
They were both lying on his bed, kissing.
*
"Take my hand..."
Then she found her self in front of Billie, he was holding out his hand for her to take. They were both standing in front of a car. When she looked into his eyes she felt like she was in another universe altogether... The gleam of his bright green eyes filling her with warmth.
"We can run away together," His voice making her heart race. "hand in hand..." She put her hand in his, his warm skin sending shivers down her spine. Then she felt his lips on hers, she raised her hand to meet with his soft cheek.
*
"TAKE MY HAND!" She looked up to Billie, then quickly looked down, her body hanging from a bridge. She felt that fear again.
"BILLIE, HELP ME!" She tried to scream.
"I ALWAYS LOVE YOU CALI!" She looked up to him, her hands slipping. Then she felt that rush of being dropped.
"I LOVE YOU BILLIE!"
She kept falling and falling...
***
"I can't fucking believe you did that to me Tony!" Cali quickly woke up. Her breath heaving, beads of sweat running down her face. It all felt so real. She thought about the dream...
"I'm sorry! Just please don't leave!" She heard her father plead to her mother.
"Cali get up. We're going to Grandma's," He mom came crashing through the door.
"What? Why?" Cali said getting up, her mom didn't say anything. She just rushed through her room grabbing half of Cali's things and shoving them into a suit case.
"Just get into the car." Cali did what she was told, she didn't change or anything she just ran down to the car and sat in the front seat.
"Jason? What happened?" Cali asked her 8 year old brother.
"I don't know." He said.
"Do you know Chase?" She asked her other brother who was 5. He shrugged and kept looking out the window. Her mom came crashing out of the house, a bunch of suit cases in her hands. She chucked them into the boot and jumped into the drivers seat.
She drove them away from the house, as she drove down the street Cali saw Billie's house coming up. She stared at it as it went by.
The dream felt so fucking real she thought to her self.
"Mom, what happened?" Cali asked. Her mom kept her eyes on the road.
"Your father cheated on me." Cali was shocked.
"Holy shit."
"I can't be with him anymore."
Cali understood... But now her perfect family was no longer perfect.
***
A whole week went by, Cali and her brothers stayed at their grandma's house, their mom rushing about making plans for what she was going to do about her marriage.
Every time Cali was left alone to think the thoughts were of Billie. The dream made a huge effect.
Tre would come into her mind once and while. She did feel something for him, she thought about the kiss her gave her and how he helped her. But there was always that one person crowding her thoughts...
"Cali!" Her mom called her from the kitchen. Cali came from her room she was staying in and went to her. She noticed her mom was more upset then ever.
"Yeah?" Cali asked as she walked up to her.
"You and the boys are going to stay at your fathers on weekdays... For school... Until everything is sorted and I found a place you can stay with me on some days and others with him. Okay?"
She looked into her mom's sad eyes.
"Okay," She nodded.
"I'll take you kids over there now... No... Grandma will." Cali liked her Grandma, she was always kind to her. She could talk to her anytime she liked and she would understand, but she didn't tell her about Billie... Why was it always Billie? Why not Tre? After all Tre was the one who was nice to her.
After getting everything Cali brought she was going back to her dads house.
"What's wrong Cali?" Her grandma asked.
"Nothing." She stared out the window. Her two brothers playing I Spy in the back seat.
When they got there Cali saw Billie mucking around with his girlfriend on his front lawn. They were hugging and kissing etc.
When Cali stepped out of the car Billie stopped and looked up the street and saw Cali carrying her suitcases.
"Let's go inside Kelly." Billie said, Kelly nodded and they both went inside.
Cali tried not to look at him... She tried!
"Bye Granny!" Both the two young boys hugged their grandma.
"Bye Granny," Cali said, giving her a hug.
"Don't eat yourself away by thinking about that boy Cali," Her grandma knew just by the way she looked at Billie. Cali smiled weakly and nodded. "Bye now!" And with that she drove off. Cali dragged the suitcases to the front door.
"Chase! Open the damn door!" Cali yelled.
Chase opened the door. As they all walked in they saw their father sitting on the couch with some blonde bimbo sitting next to him. He quickly got up to help Cali. "Keep the Blondie away from me. You got that Tony?" Cali said, her fathers eyes filled with sadness at the mention of his real name and not "Dad".
An hour went by as Cali made her room to the way she liked it, she heard a knock on the door.
"Cali come down and meet Lucy," He father said in the nicest way possible. Cali rolled her eyes and did what she was told.
They both walked into the living room.
"Hi Cali! I'm Lucy, your dads girlfriend."
Cali looked in shock.
"It's only been a week!" She yelled at her dad. He looked down. "Fuck this, I'm going out!" And with that Cali ran out the front door. She had her pack of cigarettes in her pocket, so she sat down on the curb and lit one up. The sky slowly turning pink as the sun started to set.
"Hey Cali?" She heard a voice come closer to her, she looked over and saw Mike, the guy she met at Gilman.
"Oh hi... Mike?"
He nodded, she stood up. She noticed he had his car parked.
"I'm going to Gilman, you wanna join?" He asked.
"Who else is going with you?"
"Just me. I'm going to see Tre down there."
She smiled.
"I'll come."
***
Mike led her into Gilman. The car ride was pretty cool. Cali thought Mike was pretty funny and easy going.
"HEY TRE!" Mike called out once he saw Tre in the crowd. Tre turned around and saw Mike.
"Hey Mike-" Then he saw Cali. "Cali!" He ran over to her and hugged her. "It's been forever," He said, letting go of her.
"I'll leave you two and see ya later... Girls." Mike said walking of to find some girl to hang out with.
"So how have you been?" Cali said over the music of the band.
"Pretty good. Just been thinking about you heaps,"
She smiled.
"Same with me thinking about you,"
"Let's go outside. I wanna ask you something,"
Cali nodded and he led her outside, the cool air hitting them as they opened the door.
They both walked out and then Tre led her to his car, they both sat on the hood.
"So what ya gotta ask?" Cali asked.
Tre looked into her eyes and lifted her chin a bit. She looked into the sky blue color of his eyes. The warmth of his lips met hers. She melted.
He pulled apart from her soft lips and said.
"You wanna maybe be with me?"
"CALI! WAIT UP!" She heard his voice chase after her. She ran out into the crowd not stopping. She could feel him chasing after her.
"MOVE!" She screamed, tears crashing down on her wet skin. Everyone that was in her way moved, so she pushed forward as fast as she could.
