My Mom Married Billie Joe, chapter 3
****A Year Later****
Tre picked me up from school the day my mom and I had our little "discussion." Tre had the biggest smile on his face as I approached his car. He turned of his radio as I got into the car. "Guess what, Victoria?" he asked. "What?" "How would you like to start summer break a little early this year?" he asked. I was confused. " I don't understand." I said. "Well, the guys and I found out that we are gonna go on tour a little earlier than we expected." he explained. " How early?" I asked, getting excited. "Well, we would have to leave for Florida in early April. So, do you wanna go on tour still, even though you would miss about a month of school?" he asked. "Sure! I'm always up for missing school!" I yelled. "Great!" he said, as he was turning the radio again. We listened to the Ramones the rest of the way home.
I told my mom about the tour and everything. She said I could go, but her and my sisters would have to stay home. I knew what that meant. I would have to follow Billie Joe everywhere and abide by his rules. Although I knew this I still wanted to go. My mom wanted me to too. She said it would give Billie Joe and time to "bond." I did not want to "bond" with him and espically him.
I don't know why I hated him so much. I guess I just didn't get him. I mean, I knew more about him than my mom. I WAS THE FAN! I HAD ALL THE ALBUMS! I WAS OBSESSED WITH BILLIE JOE!!!! My mom knew nothing about him when she met him. It just wasn't fair for me or the rest of his fans.
**** April 10th, The Day I Was Leaving With Green Day****
"Goodbye mom, Jackie, Annie." I gave my mom a hug. She was crying like crazy. "Its ok mom. It'll only be a few months. I love you ." I said, feeling a little bad for her. I mean, she will be alone with my sisters all summer. " I love you too, Victoria" she said . Everyone exchanged hugs and Mike, Tre, and I waited in the car. We knew mom and Billie Joe would need some time alone before our departure.
After what it seemed like forever, Billie Joe finally came out and got into the car. "Victoria? Would it be okay if I went real quick to say goodbye to the boys?" he asked, sounding really sad. "Yeah, sure." I said, trying to not be so rude.
We reached the house and he told Tre, Mike and I to stay in the car because it would only take a few minutes. When he came out and got into the car, he was crying. "What a fag. He's crying!" I thought to myself.
****On the Plane****
I sat alone on the other side of the plane. "Victoria, we need to talk." Billie Joe said coldly.
"Why?" I asked rudely.
" I think it's time we talked, don't you?"
"No." I said, my voice full of hatered.
"You know, I'm really tired of your attitude! I could just put you on a plane home as soon as we get off this plane!" he yelled.
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry." I lied.
"I just want to know what is wrong."
"Nothing is wrong! Why does everything think there is something wrong?!" I screamed. Mike looked back at us, concerned.
"Don't lie to me."
"I'm not lying!" I said.
"Yes you are!"
"Okay, I lied. Sorry for not being perfect." I gave him a dirty look
" You know you could tell me anything. I could try to help you out with whatever problems you are going through." For some reason, that made me a little happier to know that he actually cared about me. '
"Okie dokie." I said. "Is that all?"
"Yeah. Oh, we are gonna land pretty soon, okay?"
"Yeah, whatever." I said, and turned on some Slipknot, making it loud enough for him to hear, just to get him mad. He hated Slipknot. I did too, but I pretended I did just to make him upset. I stopped listening to Green Day after my mom and Billie Joe got married. I still liked Green Day, why else would I go on tour with them every summer? I just didn't want Billie Joe to know that I still liked Green Day as much as I did before. I kinda made it sound like it was a drag going on tour, even though I always had a blast.
