When Mike Met Mary, chapter 1
The first thing Mary noticed about Mike was his blue eyes. Sure his fluro orange hi-tops with pink and green laces stood out as well, but the way his eyes sparkled like stars, the way they pierced into her soul, it was more amazing than some old run down Chuck Taylors.
'Wow,' she thought to herself, 'Who IS that guy on the bass?!'
As the band called 'Sweet Children' continued to play, all Mary could think about was this amazing guy. "Come on, Mary! We're finally 16 and old enough to go to Gilman, and you're not even rocking!! Come on girl, get your ass over here now or I'll MAKE you get up there on the stage and sing!!" shouted Mary's best friend, Eleanor, or 'El' for short.
But Mary wasn't listening. She was focused on the bassist of The Sweet Children.
"Hey El!" she yelled, breaking out of her little 'Mike' trance.
"Oh, I see you've finally decided to join the real world again, hey?"
"Hilarious. Anyways, do you know the name of the bassist that's playing right now?"
"Oh yeah sure, that's Mike. My brother's friend. Hot, isn't he?"
"Uh.. yeah sure.. okay."
*LATER ON THAT NIGHT (Mikes point of view)*
"Hey Bill, what's that girls name over there? The one with the black hair and the Ramones t-shirt?" he asked his best mate of 4 years.
"Uh...Kate? Jenny? Stephanie? Oh god I dunno. Why?"
"Oh, just wondering"
"Hey dudes, what's up?" asked their friend Jake as he slapped Mike on the back and took a seat at the bar in between Mike and Billie Joe.
"Mikes just wondering what that chicks name is over there with the green converses and black hair and a Ramones t-shirt on. You got any idea?"
"Oh, her? Yeah sure, her names Mary. Sisters best friend. So, are you guys crashing at mine or what?"
"Um, yeah I suppose," answered Billie Joe.
"Nah, I can't. Got a school leaders meeting tomorrow morning."
"Stuff the meeting, Maaaaaaary's gonna be there!!!" teased Jake.
Mike blushed, but said that he'd come then, as long as she would be there.
"Don't worry dude, she'll be there."
1:00 AM BACK AT JAKE AND EL'S PLACE (no ones point of view)
"So, who of your brothers friends are gonna be here tonight?" Mary asked El as they climbed out their taxi.
"Um.. Billie, Al, Tre, and Mike," she replied.
"MIKES GONNA BE HERE??!!" she whisper/screamed.
"Yah, that's what I said, isn't it?"
They got inside and the guys (Jake, Billie, Al, Tre) were taking it in turns at the Super Nintendo. It was currently Billie and Mike playing, and Mary didn't want Mike to notice her so she slunk past them as quietly as she possibly could. BUT...El being the loud mouth that she is, noticed this and quickly grabbed her arm, and pulled her over to the couch the boys were sitting on.
"Mike, this is Mary, and Mary, this is Mike," she introduced.
"And Mike, Mary has a boyfriend," finished Billie.
That's when Mike blushed to a deep shade of scarlet, and turned his gaze from
Mary to focus on Billie Joe.
"Does she really?" he asked at a whisper.
"Haha no, they broke up. Anyways, I'm kicking your ass in this game, so hurry up and keep playing."
The relief on Mikes face was clearly noticeable to everyone looking at him, which was everyone but Billie (playing the Nintendo), Tre (passed out on the floor) and Al (passed out on top Tre.).
"Um.. well.. I'm going to bed now," announced Mary.
"'Night" the boys chorused.
"Back at ya."
*NEXT MORNING*
Mary got up at about 6:00am, and everyone else was still asleep but Tre and Al (they went to sleep on the floor as I said, so they had plenty of sleeping time).
"Hi.. um.. Tre, is it?" said Mary as she sleepily wandered past Tre sitting in front of the tv watching Sponge Bob.
"The one and only! And that's Al out there doing god knows what.." he trailed off, but Mary clearly got the point he was aiming at, if you know what I mean...
Mary kept walking and helped herself to some toast, met Al, and went back out to sit with Tre on the couch.
An hour later, Mike got up, and when he saw Mary sitting with Tre, laughing so hard she could hardly breathe, he instantly felt a pang of jealousy over Tre.
When he came back out of the kitchen, he took a seat in a single chair, and pretended to watch The Saddle Club, but of course he was actually watching Mary.
"Wow," he thought, "she looks so fine in her boxers and singlet.. she has such a beautiful figure.."
A few minutes later, Tre started tickling Mary like there's no tomorrow.
"Oh Tre stop it... your so... funny!" she laughed.
Mike began to feel the anger rise through his body.
Eventually, he couldn't take it anymore.
"THIS IS SO SCREWED UP!!!" he screamed, and ran out side.
He stood behind the garden shed and lit a smoke.
He inhaled the smoke, letting it fill his lungs, and exhaled after a few seconds.
He felt a cold hand on his shoulder, and spun around.
"Billie.. I.. but.. he always takes the girls I like!!" he cried.
"Man, it's ok. I'll have a chat with Tre, okay?"
"Thanks man."
"No probs."

Billie had a chat with Tre, and he apologised for being a dick.
At 3:00, Mary went home. She just walked, El's house wasn't very far from hers.
She walked up to the front door, and let herself in.
She walked to her room, and got changed.
When she finished doing that, she decided to get something to eat from the kitchen. She was walking past the lounge room, and to her horror, saw her mum kissing some random bloke...
She couldn't take it any more. Everything in her life was crashing down, and now her mum's having an affair?!
"AGH!!" she screamed.
She ran up to her room and picked out a razor from her collection.
Letting the blood ooze from her the deep gash in her wrist, she felt at home again...
