American Idiot, chapter 1
I was watching MTV when the MTV news came on, "Well Billie Joe Armstrong and his wife Adrienne Armstrong, or should I say Adrienne Nesser, are now divorced. They made it final just a few days ago now on other news..." I turned off the TV, it pissed me off. Why the fuck would they want to know about Billie and Adrienne's life. I got and went to the kitchen to get me a soda when my phone rang.
"Hello, you have Lexis."
"Hey Lexis it's Billie."
"Oh, hey Billie."
"Hey Lexis, um, I need to talk."
"We are."
I heard him laugh
"God Lexis, person to person."
"Well you could come over since you can afford the plane ride."
"Ya I guess I need to get out of town anyways so I'll see you tomorrow then, bye Lexis."
"Bye Billie."
Me and Billie have been friends for a very long time, ever since I turned 13 and I started to like punk stuff or get into punk more. I never liked the pink crap or pop shit. I always thought Billie was cute, I've always had a crush on him, but since he is 8 years older then me nothing has happen and when he met Adrienne we all could see his love for her. That's why I find it so weird that they got a divorce, a lot of people found it weird. I started to clean up the house for when Billie got here. I had finished when my roommate Ava came in.
"Hey Lexis."
"Hey Ava."
"Why the place clean," she asked me looking around at the house.
"Cuz Billie's coming over tomorrow and I wanted the place clean," I told her looking away from her. She knows that I have a crush on him and she has a crush on my brother, Frank. The thing she doesn't know is that he has a crush on her, but they both told me not to tell each other so they're both idiots.
"Oh, I see," she told me giving me this look. She's an idiot, but god she's one of a kind. She gave me one last look the walked out. I smiled and went to my room to listen to music. I guess I fell asleep cuz I woke up when someone jumped on my bed. I open my eyes to look at my clock, it was 3 in the morning. I turned and saw Billie lying down next to me he had fallen asleep already. I smiled at him and gave him a kiss on the forehead and went back to bed.
In the morning I woke up with an arm around me. I turned around and saw Billie, again with an arm around me and half of his body hanging off my bed. I laughed at him and he woke up. He smiled at me
"Hey Lexis."
"Billie comfortable," I asked him. He smiled at me and got back on the bed, his arm was still around me.
"So what's up with you Lexis, last time I saw you was last year when Tre threw you that birthday party," he told me laying down his head next to mine.
"Well nothing really, how about you?"
"Well before the divorce great, after, hell I needed to get out. Adie was just bringing over her new boyfriend to the house. She even got the kids calling him dad which pissed me off, and the press finally got a hold of the break up. But at least we lasted 6 months before they found out which is good I think, I don't know I finally moved out of the house."
"I'm sorry Billie, I know how much you love her. What happened? Tre really didn't tell me."
"Well I guess I was out on tour too much and she just finally just didn't want to wait for me anymore. So one day before I went home I get the divorce papers and a letter telling me that I can still live with her but it's over between us," he told me with tears in his eyes. I got up and hugged him.
"It's ok Billie, it will be ok. You and Adrienne were meant to be," I told him unwilling, but I knew he had to hear it.
"Thanks Lexis, but you and I both know Adie isn't going to come back to me, who would?" I felt so bad for him, and I wanted to tell him that I wanted him, that I would take him but I couldn't. He had gotten a divorce, and he was still in love with her.
We got out of bed when we smelled Ava's cooking. As we raced down there we ran into Crash one of my other buddies. Him and Darrell are best friends.
"Hey Lexis, 2 dollar bill."
"Cute Crash it's not that anymore," Billie told him giving him a soft punch in the arm. But he made it look like Billie was beating him. Then Ava called for breakfast we started to push each other out of the way to get down stairs. I won because Crash pushed me into Billie and Billie pushed me farther up into the breakfast table.
"I win, I win, I win," I sang, doing my stupid I win dance. I shake my ass while I go around circles with my both index fingers above my head.
"You win, you win, you win," Billie sang copying me.
"Yes, now shut up and eat," Ava yelled at us, serving the food on the table. As we dug in Billie's phone rang. He looked at me like he didn't want to answer it so I grabbed it.
"Hello Billie's phone."
"Hi this is Adie, is Billie there?" as she asked I mouthed to Billie it was Adie, she wants to talk to you, he shook his head no.
"Sorry but he's in the shower right now."
"Oh ok, tell him I need to talk to him."
"About kids?"
"Um no, about us."
"Well I'll tell him, bye."
"Wait who's this."
"Lexis."
"Oh hi Lexis, why is Billie with you?"
"Cos I'm his best friend and he needed to get out of the spot light for a while."
"Nice, ok bye."
"Oh rightly then, bye."
When I hung up he asked me, "What did she want?"
"Um to talk to you."
"About the kids?"
"No, about you guys."
"Great," he mumbled digging back into his food. The rest of the meal was eaten in silence. When we finished me and Billie went to watch a movie. I had made popcorn. Most of it was all over the floor cos we were trying got get it into each other's month, but we both have really bad aim. When Ava came in she freaked out when she saw all the popcorn.
"What the fuck happened here?" she yelled at us, we freaked out and ran outside away from her. I missed being with Billie, we always did something like this to Ava. For the rest of the day me and Billie walked around catching up on each other's lives. Billie had stayed with me and Ava for a week now, it was fun. Since I'm a model I didn't have much work to do, the few photo shoots I had that week Billie went with me. I had to go to a photo shoot today. Billie had been staying with me in my bed, we haven't done anything, we're just friends. I had gotten out of bed and went to the bathroom. I had changed into my black skirt and my black MCR shirt. When I came out Billie was awake he was just in his boxers and he was mumbling something.
"Hey Billie, morning," I told him, going up to him and sitting down next to him.
"Hey, where we going today?" he asked me getting off the bed going to his suit case.
"Well I have a photo shoot today, wanna come?" I asked him, dropping down to the floor so I could look for my black chucks.
"Ya sure, when do you have to be there?" he asked me, grabbing some clothes.
"Um, at ten."
"What time is it?"
"9," I told him finding my chucks.
"Ok, I'm going to take a quick shower then we can go," he told me going into my bathroom. I got up and went to the kitchen Ava was there drinking her cup of coffee I got me some and sat down with her.
"So when are you going to tell him Lexis?" she asked me not looking up from the papers she was reading.
"What do you mean Ava?" I asked her starting to play with my hair.
"That you love him, that you wanna bang his ass," she told me calmly as if she was talking about the weather or something.
"Um I don't know what you are talking about Ava, but stop," I told her getting up to leave the room cos my face was going red and fast. Ava just kept on reading. I went to my room where Billie was putting on his shoes.
"Ok, lets go Lexis," he told me getting up and grabbing his wallet. I followed him out we got in my black Hummer and drove off. When we got there I was rushed into the make up room.
"Ok this is what you are going to wear," the chick told me, showing me a dress which was black and red, the thread was red and the rest was black. It went to my knees and at the end it was torn up like someone had run threw the woods with it. On it looked nice.
"And you are going to have to wear this wings with it," the same lady told me. The wings were big and black, they sort of looked like angels wings but more evil, the tips were red.
I nodded she handed me the dress I went to get in it, Billie was still in the room with the photographer. After I got the dress, on which fit prefectly, which most of the clothes did cos they know my sizes. I went into the make up girl, she did my hair. I already had red highlights in them so she just had it look a little more messier then before. I did my own make up, I don't trust anyone. Now all I had to do was wait for the guy who was going to be in the picture with me. So I went back outside with Billie, his month dropped open when he saw me. It made me feel good inside seeing Billie do that.
We waited for an hour then the photographer got mad and threw a fit. Billie was nice enough and volunteered to cover for the guy. As they were getting Billie ready I was putting on my wings which were cool. When Billie came out he was dressed in all black and had on eye liner smeared, he really looked hot. Then he smiled at me and walked over to me and hugged me.
"You owe me big Lexis, you know that right," he whispered into my ear. I nodded, then we had to get into position. Billie had his arms around my waist. I was facing him and one of my legs was on his hip and my head was turned to the camera. He was looking at me. We took a few of those, then a few of me by myself on a swing with black petals all over the floor.
"Hello, you have Lexis."
"Hey Lexis it's Billie."
"Oh, hey Billie."
"Hey Lexis, um, I need to talk."
"We are."
