Some Days He Feels Like Dying, chapter 4

We had to drive over to White Bear Lake to get to her friend, Laurie's, house. Adrienne told me that she wanted to pack and come back home with me. I can't even describe how happy I was. I was just so happy...

We finally got to White Bear Lake, and Adie knocked on Laurie's door. Laurie opened it and smiled at Adie, turned to me, and then glared. She looked back at Adrienne like, "Why is HE here?!". All Adrienne did was smile back at her. I'm pretty sure Laurie got the message because she actually let me in.

I helped Adrienne pack her stuff. Then, she hugged Laurie, and we got in the car. As I started it up, Adrienne leaned over and kissed me on the cheek. I smiled and kissed her back.

We talked the whole way home...on the plane, in the car. The whole way home. I told her that I felt like dying without her. And she said she cried a lot. We shared laughs like we always do. By the time we got home, I knew she had fully forgiven me, and she was back. For good.

When we got home, Mike was there. He fell asleep on the couch while Joey and Jakob were putting shaving cream on his face. They didn't seem to notice us until we stood directly behind them for about 10 seconds with our arms crossed.

"MOM!!!", they screamed. They gave her a hug and asked her where she'd been. She said she had to visit Grandma and Grandpa. She also reminded them that it was 11:30 at night, and they should be in bed. She brought them into their rooms and tucked them in.

I walked Mike over to the door.

"Thank you so much. I don't know what I would've done without you."

"No problem." He patted me on the back. "I'm always here if you need to talk. Always."

"Thanks, man."

He opened the door and left. Adrienne came downstairs with the note in her hand. She ripped it up and threw it away.

"I'm so sorry, Billie Joe. I really am." She kissed me.

"I love you", was all I said.

She took my hand and brought me up to our bedroom. She threw all the stuff off our bed and we sat down. She unbuttoned my shirt and took it off. She put her arms around my neck and brought me closer to her. We layed ourselves down and kissed. She played footsies with me...

We fell asleep, but when we woke up, it was only 7AM. Since it was far from when Joey and Jakob woke up, we got up and went out for coffee.

She ordered a vanilla cappuccino. I ordered the same.

"So, how's the new album coming?", she asked.

I was completly oblivious to what she just asked me. "What?"

"You mentioned something about making a new album. Ever since that bastard stole the master recordings of the old one."

"Oh, yeah. I guess it's going pretty good. Mike, Tre, and I are still kinda thinking about what we're going to do."

"Oh, I see."

"Yeah, I've got 10 tracks written so far. I just have to show them to Mike and Tre."

"Awesome! Can you name some of them off for me?"

Suddenly, I remembered the song that I wrote about her. Letterbomb.

"Make that 11 tracks. I wrote one the other night."

"Can you play it for me when you get home?"

I didn't think I should bring back the 'memory' of Adrienne leaving me.

"Um... Actually, I thought it would be best if you just waited until we actually record it and finish the album, or whatever we're gonna do. It just sounds better and stuff."

"Oh... okay then."

I leaned over and kissed her. I started the car and we drove back home.
