An Extraordinary Girl, chapter 5
During the car ride Amanda didn't talk much. She stared out at the moving scenery. She sighed and leaned her forehead against the window.
"Hey, cheer up," Billie said placing a hand on her shoulder. Amanda looked at him. She forced a weak smile and looked away. Tre turned to look at her. He started to make funny faces to cheer her up. Amanda smiled and laughed weakly. Tre stopped making faces.
"Come on. That wasn't a real laugh," Tre said.
"I don't feel like laughing," Amanda said looking away.
"Please smile."
"No," Amanda said. She sighed and looked out the window again.
Billie sighed. He had an idea. He started to tickle Amanda. She couldn't help, but laugh. She was very ticklish. Tre tried to join in, but couldn't because he was in the front seat and Billie and Amanda were in the back seat. Amanda jerked away and hit her head on the window.
"Ow," she whispered. Billie pulled her close to him and hugged her. He kept whispering he was sorry in her ear. Amanda reassured him that she was alright. She gave him a smile. It was small, but reassuring. Billie returned the smile.
The car came to a halt. Mike was the first to step out. He was followed by Tre. Tre got out and opened Amanda's door.
"My lady," he said with a little bow.
"Tre, I never knew you were such an gentleman," Amanda said holding out her hand. Tre grabbed it. He gave it a gentle kiss and helped her out. Amanda giggled. She blushed.
"Tre she's like 13," Billie said getting out on the other side of the car. Tre shrugged. Amanda walked past the band. She walked into the recording studio. She was amazed by all of the equipment. Billie, Mike, and Tre walked into the small recording area. Amanda sat outside of the area. She watched as the band began to play. The first song they were recording was Warning. She listened to the lyrics as they began to unfold.
