This is Ludicrous, chapter 3

It was a very beautiful day, which Linda would never see the likes of in New York. As the two walled along the sidewalk pavement, she grabbed a hold of his arm. Billie smiled, as he was definitely enjoying this very beautiful girl walking beside him. She must have been the most beautiful he had ever laid his green eyes on. And now she was holding onto his arm, goose bumps ran down his spine.

The two were first heading towards a breakfast café. "This is where we all go to eat breakfast, especially Mike and me," he said.

"Who's Mike?" Linda asked.

"Mike Pritchard? He's got to be the greatest companion/bass player that ever walked the earth," he laughed.

"Wow, that sounds pretty awesome... bass player... "she repeated to herself. The both of them approached the obscure yellow café and sat down at a table outside on the porch.

"BILLIE! WHATS UP?!" a voice screamed out in the distance. The two jerked their heads into the café doors to find a tall lanky boy, with dreadfully long hair, running towards them.

"Mike! What's happening buddy?" Billie Joe asked. Apparently this was Mike, and he sat right beside Linda to talk.

"Well, I've been treating my mom to breakfast here since you called to say you were busy... and yet here you are," his face turned into a concerning look. He looked down onto the table, and saw two beautiful hands placed softly onto the surface. Those are NOT Billie Joe's hands, Mike thought to himself. He looked up to see a sweet porcelain face with the dreamiest crystal blue eyes he had ever seen. Her beautiful long dark brown hair shimmered into the sun.

"Sorry about that Mike... "Billie Joe said. Mike was too hypnotized by the beautiful girl reading the menu to hear. "This is Linda, Mike."

"Hello... "she whispered softly. She was nervous about meeting new people, especially interesting-looking ones like Mike. But she had to face the truth, the both of them were most likely the handsomest she had ever seen.

"Nice to meet you Linda, what a pretty name. I'm Mike Pritchard, Billie Joe's best friend. How are you liking Oakland so far?" Mike was a sociable guy, Linda couldn't keep up.

"I love it here, its so nice here... unlike New York City," she confessed. Mike's eyebrows went up... at the shock of hearing someone from New York.

"That's great. What are you guys' plan for the day?" he asked, looking at Billie Joe.

"Well, we'll eat breakfast first... I'll take you to the bowling alley and arcade, Linda. Everyone goes there. I'll show you all of the local shops and stuff and-"

"What about the Gilman, Billie Joe?" Mike asked in almost whisper.

"You know it Mike. How can I possibly forget that?!" Billie laughed.

Gilman? What the flip is that? Linda thought to herself, puzzled.

"Well, I'll let you two love birds continue, mom needs me. Peace," he smiled as he walked away from the table. Billie Joe sat up again from his slouch to look into Linda's eyes once more.

"So do you like him? Isn't he great?" he asked with anticipation.

"Well I have to admit, he is a very fun guy." This, Linda could not deny. She continued to read the menu to herself, Billie Joe still looking at her sweet loveliness.

The two finished breakfast and walked along the crowded pavements, as it was Saturday and in the summer. Linda quickly grabbed a hold of Billie Joe's arm so she wouldn't get caught into the crowd. "Here we are Linda," Billie announced. The two stepped into the dusty doors of a place called the "Arcade Fire." This must be the arcade, Linda thought. She could hear the sound of bowling balls rushing and hitting pins, and then the noise of all the teenagers over that.

Linda continued to hold onto Billie tightly, as they walked past everyone.
"BILLIE!" some voices in a group called for him. The two walked into the lounge corner to find 3 other guys sitting around calling for him.

"Those are some of my other friends," Billie Joe whispered to her. The two approached the lounging boys, and they all found themselves staring at this beautiful girl. "Hey guys, this is Linda. She's the new girl who just moved in to that spot next to my house."

"Oh, so YOU'RE the LeVille's daughter," one said. Linda only shook her head, yes. "What's the matter, girlie? Don't you talk? Don't be shy here, we are all cool guys." Linda smiled, they all seemed to be quite nice.

"That's Dylan right there, Linda," Billie introduced. "And the dude next to him is Roy, and there is Storm." All three of them kindly waved to her and she waved back to them. They all, too, seemed to be entranced with her beauty. She continued to hold onto Billie Joe's arm tightly, the music of the arcade filling her ears.

"BILLIE JOE!" yet another voice called. However, this time it was a different voice. It was a girl.

"Oh fuck... ," Billie mumbled to himself under his breath. He turned around to see a girl walking quickly towards him. Linda turned, her arm wrapped around his.

"Who is THIS SLUT?" the girl screamed. Her screeching voice hissed, making them feel as though their ears were about to bleed. "BILLIE JOE! TELL ME WHAT YOU'RE DOING WITH THIS SLUT WRAPPED AROUND YOU LIKE... only a slut would." Her hands on her hips, he feet tapping up and down.

Who is this? Linda thought to herself. "Jennifer... this is Linda LeVille. She just moved here from New-"

"I DON'T CARE WHO SHE IS! WHAT IS SHE DOING WRAPPED AROUND YOU LIKE A FUCKING SLUT?!" the ecstatic girl screamed. Billie Joe stepped back a step, his ears on the verge of bleeding.

"I'm just showing her around town because she's new here and she has no idea of where to go, Jennifer please calm down," Billie Joe answered calmly.

"That gives her NO right to be wrapped around you like a slut Billie Joe. YOU'RE MY BOYFRIEND. YOU'RE NOT A FUCKING P.I.M.P." she screamed.

"It's not like you think Jen. We were just-"

"That's it Billie Joe. I've had ENOUGH of you. Your friends, your fucking guitars, and now your new bitch." She sneered at Linda. "It's over. So...I guess I won't be seeing you around. Nice to meet you Laura." She walked her preppy self away.

"It's Linda," Billie Joe corrected. Jennifer ignored them and left. Linda was confused.

"What was that about?" she asked, still holding on to Billie Joe's arm.

"That was Jennifer Smith, apparently my ex-girlfriend now," Billie Joe answered. "Doesn't matter now, things were never going to work out." He smiled, looking into Linda's beautiful eyes. It really didn't matter anymore. He looked at Linda, something had struck a chord in him.
