This is Ludicrous, chapter 4

Those warm summer months had quickly passed. Linda seemed to have forgotten all of her family troubles in New York, and simply focused on her life in Oakland. She had quickly become drawn to Billie Joe, every time he passed by - keeping her emotions to herself.

Yes it was true that she was in love with Billie Joe. She could never understand why, but yet again Linda never understood a majority of the things she did. It was like this that she was able to keep her emotions to herself.

School had started and Linda seemed quite situated with things. She wouldn't give her happiness in Oakland up for anything in the world. Her favorite part was that Billie Joe would give her guitar lessons in secret, without her strict parents ever finding out.

One evening in the end of September, Billie Joe laid on his bed. He thought. Billie Joe would always think, but this time he had laid on his bed in the deepest thought he had ever had. He ran his fingers through his ginger hair, frustrated at what he couldn't say. But then again, what was there to lose.

"Billie...what is happening to you?" he asked himself. "You're letting a girl get in your mind too much and its distracting you. You know what the worst part is you shallow creep? She is your best friend. That's it. You bastard."

He looked at his clock, 1:34 am. It was too late, but he couldn't hold it in. He got up from his bed and walked out of his bedroom door. The stairs were quiet as he tiptoed down them and out the front door, trying to wake his mother.

Billie Joe ran across the yard and stood in front of Linda's window. He took a deep breath and reached in his pocket for a pebble. It clanged on the window as he softly tossed it, hoping to get her attention. He could hear the sound of bed squeaks and he saw the window open.

"Billie Joe, what are you up to?" she whispered as she stared down toward him.

"I need to talk to you Linda, and it can't wait," he answered, whispering to her.

"Well come up her then," she beckoned for him. He nodded as he climbed up the side of the house trying to reach the window. He got to the top and Linda grabbed his hand and pulled him into her room as he landed on top of her bed. "Remember to be quiet, my parents are sleeping."

"Of course..." he answered.

"So what did you want to tell me Billie?" Linda asked. He couldn't take it anymore, she was just so beautiful in every way.

"I know you and I have been very close friends, I care about you very much and I think about you all of the time. I guess that's why..." He stared deep into her crystal eyes.

"What Billie?" she asked, with her sweet tone.

"I...I...I love you, Linda."
