This is Ludicrous, chapter 9

"What are the neighbors going to say Lance?" Mrs. LeVille yelled at her husband.

"I..I...I dunno Layla. We are just going to have to work things out I suppose," he answered. His was voice shaken from his wife's scream.

"That isn't good enough Lance, our family name is ruined. Just like it was in New York. Where do you suppose we move next, Antarctica?" she yelled. This time her voice was cracked from the tears.

Linda was in her room, as she locked herself inside. Her parents were fighting downstairs, and she leaned against the door to hear. "Layla, many worse things could have happened to Linda. It will be alright."

"Name a more terrible thing than my daughter being pregnant at age 15?"

There was silence.

Linda churned as she began to cry. Her life was ruined. She knew it. What were the kids at school going to say? Would she ever be able to go back to school? Life as she knew it would never be the same.

"That's exactly what I thought Lance. My baby is going to have a baby..." she said as the tears came. Linda sat there at the door, her legs folded, with her head in her hands. Another knock came on the window, and she turned around. Billie Joe came through the window and ran to Linda. He held her in his arms so tightly. Linda's face was in tears.

"Billie, what are we going to do?" she asked as she looked into his beautiful green eyes.

"I don't know Linda, but we'll work something out. I promise everything will be okay."

"How can YOU say it'll be okay?! You're not the one impregnated!" Linda shot up from the ground and looked at Billie.

"True, but Linda there is nothing we can do. All I am saying is that we will have to go along with it for now. Really Linda that's all we can do." Linda didn't want to admit it. She loved Billie Joe. No matter what. His voice just made her believe everything was going to be okay, even though she didn't want to hear those words put into a sentence.

"Billie Joe, you realize everything will be different from now on, right?" she asked. Billie Joe nodded. "This could mean the end of your band," Linda said with a tear in her eyes. Billie Joe froze for a minute. He loved Sweet Children, and now the thought of it being taken away from him because of a baby filled his mind.

"Linda, don't say that!" Billie Joe cried. The thought of losing the band was unbarable.

"Billie Joe, it's a thought."

"I know but the band means so much to me, oh god..." Billie sighed. The two sat on the bed together. His head was in his hands and Linda stroked his back. "God, what have I done?" he began to cry.
