Loved-Like Never Before, chapter 1

Chapter One-Alone

Homeless and alone. How much did this plan want to go wrong? Hi. I'm Meghan, I'm fourteen and homeless. I ran away from the home, along with a backpack full of all my Green Day possessions.
That's all I needed to help me get along. Obsessed much? I hear you say, teenie much?. No, I'm not. Green Day inspire me, not rule my life. Scratch that last bit.. They do rule my life.. I am obsessed. But I don't care. Anyway. Back on the subject of me being homeless. I ran away from the foster place- I'm an orphan. I don't care about that either. I never knew my folks that well anyway. They both died in the 9/11 bombings but I didn't know them before that.

I thought this plan was hopeless, deadly even. I was wrong. It was about to change my life upside down.

Tré's POV
"I'm gonna go out and clear my head Bill. I'll be back in time to interview." I said hyperly
"Ok...Be good boy!" Billie called
"ME WILLS BE!" I screamed back at him.
I was pacing through the gigantic city that was New York. I spotted an alley, and being the dickhead I am, I walked down. There were a couple of dumpsters, but one thing caught my eye. It was a person, on the floor in a heap! I raced towards them.
I saw blood. Lots of it. This girl was only a kid! I scooped her up and ran back to the hotel, "BILLIE! HELP ME!" I screamed, as I stumbled up the stairs.
"WHAT THE FUCK MAN?!" Mike shouted
"I NEED HELP! This kid was in the alley and she was bleeding. She's unconscious...She needs help!"
Mike slid open the hotel door. I threw the girl onto my bed and knelt down to listen to her heartbeat. I looked in her bag, for any sign of medication.
"BILLIE! MIKE! SHE'S GOT THIS PEN THING!"I yelped. They ran towards me, concern showing.
"Dude! That's insulin! Stab her anywhere with it! She might wake up!" Billie ordered.
I did as I was told. Terrible thoughts ran through my, already frizzled head... What if I hadn't of gone down the alley? How did she get like this?
I felt a shake on the bed. She'd woken up and was, I thought, checking out her new surrounding. She spotted me and her green eyes opened in fear and shock.
"Tré Cool!" She said, in a confused voice.
"The one and only, but forget about me. What happened to you?!"
"Um..." She saw the blood on the bed and on my hands. "WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?!"
"Where were you last?"
"I was...on the streets. Searching for food," She mumbled into my hands.
"What? You're homeless?" I screeched
"You could say that, being as my home's a cardboard box..."
"Jesus...you need to stay here. We need to get the doctor."
"No...no doctors. I'll stay here...but no doctors."
"OK Ok...want a coffee or something?" Mike asked her.
"Um...can I have a glass of water please? Hang on...I need to take my insulin!" She scrambled around, looking for her pen.
"Done it..." I smiled sweetly
"Oh. My. God. Tré Cool."
"Thats me. Mike's gone to get you a glass of water and some ice and Billie is sitting right behind ya." She span around.
"Oh poo...Am I really here? Or have I just been mugged by Black Side again?"
"You better believe it. Oh! Do you need food?" She nodded gratefully
"I'll go get it Tré...stay here with her dude," Billie said, with a look of worry on his face.
"Ok." I waited until Billie went to ask her why she was homeless.
"My mom and dad were killed in the nine/eleven bombs. I had to go to this orphans home, but it was full of druggies and alcoholics. Your music was the only thing to help me through, what seemed like, my living nightmare."
I listened in awe to what this girl had gone through. No-one deserved this.
I leaned in for a hug and she flinched.
"Hey! I'm only gonna hug ya!" She sighed with relief and hugged me back.
"Sorry. I was abused at the home as well, by this man called Rob," She hung her head in shame.
"Oh My God. You've been through too much. You need to stay with us tonight. Mine and Billie's room or Mikes?"
"Yours and Billie's room...if you and Billie don't mind. I feel like i'm imposing myself on you."
The door whipped open. Mike and Billie stood in the doorway, armed with fluids and candy.
"We are the Girl-Helpers!" They both exclaimed
"Hang On! We don't know your name! Whats your name, Kid?"
"Oh...Its Meghan"
They all rushed towards me for some reason and embraced me in a massive hug. I felt protected, loved even for the first time in nearly five years- I knew I was wanted here. I wanted to stay in their arms forever. Little did I know that I maybe could.
