409 In Your Coffeemaker, chapter 10
"Whats up?" Jen asked sitting up
"I got a text at the concert" Mike answered
"From who" Jen asked
"My mum she wants to tell me something at home" Mike explained
"When" Jen asked
"Well she said she'd be up till round midnight" Mike answered
"Lets go then" Jen told him getting out of bed and holding out her hand for Mike
"Are you sure about this" Mike asked
"C'mon just give life a hop, skip and jump and your there" Jen qouted
"Ok I guess,..you really do have a qoute for every situation" Mike noticed
"I know, lets get dressed I'm getting a hoodie and jeans on over my t-shirt" Jen told him
"Ok" Mike said
They got dressed and crept downstairs no-one was awake yet, they left a note to the guys and girls saying where they were, Jen grabbed her house-keys and went out. They would've stolen the car-keys just last time Gideon did he nearly got disowned so Jen didn't take the chance. Jen grabbed her bike, Mike rode it and Jen stood on an attachment and put her hands on Mikes shoulders for balance, they saw the streets of California at night the light of the lamp-posts shone on the pavement revealing the homeless, Jen looked up to the stars and saw the beauty of the night-sky, Mike started riding faster as to get there quicker. They got to Mikes house and went up to the door they stayed there for a couple of minutes before Mike knocked on the door, slowly but surely Mike's mum opened the door and let them in, she looked like a wreck. They went into the living room and Mike's mum beckoned them to sit down.
"So mum what did you want to tell me" Mike asked his mum
"Do you mind if I tell you alone, sorry Jen" Mrs Pritchard apologised to Jen
"Thats ok, I'll just have a look round" Jen told her
"Thank you" Mrs Pritchard replied
Jen stood up and walked out and closed the door, Jen walked around while Mrs Pritchard told the news to Mike, she looked around and saw pictures of Mike when he was younger, she saw some pictures of Mike and his mum together, they looked so happy yet right now Mike was so upset at home. She carried on looking and saw Mikes room and went in. She saw his bed and she sat down on it, Jen looked around Mikes room, she saw a diary on the bed and was gonna read it but instead she just held it by the binders and out came a sheet with a drawing on it it was a girl and boy hugging eachother with everything going wrong in the background, it said on the side of it 'To my beauty Jenny, whatever happens we'll still have eachother' it had a date on it, it was at a time when Jen was regretting everything but Mike got her through it, she welled up with tears when she saw it. She put it on the bed and stood up and looked around Jen saw some pictures of her, Mike, Billie Joe and Tre, she remembered those times and a tiny smile grew on her teared-stained face, she turned around and saw a Mike with his head down, she went up to him and hugged him and then let go.
"What was the news?" Jen asked
"Mum told me that she couldn't take care of me anymore and that my adoptive parents won't do it anymore so I'm now officially living with you, she sorted it out with your parents" Mike explained crying
"Poor you" Jen said hugging the crying Mike
"C'mon lets get my stuff ready" Mike told her trying to act brave
"Sure" Jen said started to collect Mikes stuff up and getting a bag out. Mike then noticed his drawing out.
"Jen did you look in my old diary" Mike asked her
"No I promise I held it out came the picture" Jen answered
"Ok, did you like the picture" Mike asked
"Ye it was so sweet I kinda cried" Jen told him blushing while getting the things in his bag
"Thats ok, I really mean it" Mike told her packing with her
"Ok we're done, except the picture" Jen exclaimed
"You keep it" Mike told her
"Thanks" Jen replied hugging Mike and putting the picture in the bag. They ended up with 2 backpacks, Mike said his goodbyes to his mum and went outside to the bike, before they started riding off Mikes mum ran out "Mike I forgot heres a goodbye present" she told him holding out keys to a car
"Thanks mum I love you to the ends of this earth" Mike told his mum hugging her and taking the keys
"I love you too, I'll be there always in your heart" Mrs Pritchard told him
Mike and Jen got in the car and put the bike in the boot. They drove off and got to Mikes new home, they got back into there pyjamas and went to bed and slept. Monday Morning arrived and it was a bank holiday thankfully, Jen woke up early along with her best mate Sarah.
"Hey Jen" Sarah said
"Morning" Jen said
"The gig yesterday was amazing" Sarah exclaimed
"I know" Jen agreed mind somewhere else though
"Whats up you seem dazed" Sarah asked
"Its just Mike got news yesterday from his mum and he's now living here" Jen started
"Poor Mike" Sarah replied
"I also found this picture by him" Jen told her holding up the picture
"Thats beautiful, Mike is so sweet" Sarah said looking at the picture
"I know" Jen replied
"Hey guys" Abi and Lana said in unison coming in
"Hey Lana, Hey Abi" Jen said to her best mates
"Its been a while just us girls" Lana noticed
"Ye, whats the date today" Sarah asked
"Yeesh your uncoordinated" Abi told Sarah
"So, just tell me the date dammit" Sarah ordered
"No bickering, its February 14th Valentines Day" Lana told them
"Yo Jen how about you and Mike double date tonight with me and Tre" Abi suggested
"Sure lets go shopping today and get ready" Jen suggested
"Okay" Abi replied
Abi and Jen went shopping together and spent some quality time with eachother. They went into shop after shop to find something to wear but didn't find much but Jen bought a pendant necklace. They went into a shop and bought there outfits there, Jen bought a dark-turqoise spaghetti strap dress with little designs on it that went up to her thighs, Abi bought a black dress that had purple flowers on it. They bought some jewellery to go with it. That night came and Mike and Tre were ready, Mike had on a white t-shirt with a navy blazer and black trousers, Tre had a black t-shirt, leather jacket and jeans. They both had a single red rose with them. Jen and Abi came down with there new dresses and jewellery, Jen put her hair into a bun with two little plaits by her ear, Abi put hers into a simple high-ponytail. They went out to a restaraunt and ate dinner.
"Abigail you look great" Tre told Abi kissing her neck
"Thanks you look, well clean at least" Abi joked
"Jen you look gorgeous I love the dress" Mike complimented
"Thanks you look so sauve" Jen told him
The night went on as the two couples ate dinner and talked. Tre and Abi went to Abis place while Mike and Jen went back to there house and sat down on Jens bed(Mikes was coming the next day).
"Jen this night has been great" Mike told Jen
"Same" Jen replied
"I love you so much" Mike said
"I love you too" Jen said kissing Mike on the lips
"Whatever happens I'll be there" Mike told her
"Just give life a hop, skip and a jump and your there" Jen and Mike said in unison kissing afterwards.
