409 In Your Coffeemaker, chapter 6
Tomorrow dawned on them and it was the day of Gideons concert and although they didn't like Gideons band, they hadn't been to a concert in ages. Jen woke up and opened the curtains it was a perfect day yet they were stuck in school, she saw Mike sleeping and saw his peacefulness, she was glad she said her feelings out. She kneeled down by the sleeping bag and ran her fingers through his blondish-brown quite long hair and thought about the concert that night. He whispered eyes still closed "Jen I already hate my boring hair I don't need fingers going through it"
Jen stopped and then suggested "Why don't we cut it then"
"What cut my long hair" Mike cried instantly sitting up
"Yeah it'll be a new step in the stairs of life" Jen remarked
"Okay, do web have enough time though" Mike asked
"Yeah of course come on I have Scissors and I can get a shaver to even it out from the bathroom, get your hair into a ponytail and I'll cut it off" Jen said getting up and getting out her scissors. Mike then got a hairband and loosely put it in a ponytail. Jen got the scissoer to the hair and asked Mike "You ready"
"Yep" Mike said more enthusiatic. Jen cut off the ponytail and held it up in front of him his face lit up, Jen then threw it in the bin and started cutting the rest. When it was unable to cut she got a shaver and started shaving it off. When she was done she cleaned up her floor of hair and threw it in the bin and showed the mirror to Mike. He was shocked and said "You Jen are the greatest"
"Why thank you, I'll get some hair-wax to put it up in spikes" Jen said getting hair wax out of Mattys room. She got it and waxed his hair up in spikes.
"Jen you are an artiste" Mike said complimenting
"I try" Jen remarked
"Lets get to school and show the new due off" Jen suggested
"Sure" Mike said happily
They got to school and waited by the lockers, Jen couldn't help but run her fingers through his hair and incesantly did it, people saw and complimented Mike or just told him he was just more of a freak. Billie Joe came to school and got to the lockers and saw Mike and was in a state of shock.
"Mike what the hell" Billie Joe cried
"I got bored with my hair and Jen did it for me, aint it shnazzey" Mike replied
"Its cool and all but didn't you make that pact with me not to cut your hair" Billie Joe asked
"Dude you may not have the long-long hair you used to have but you still cut it" Mike answered
"Crap" Billie Joe muttered
"Tre should be here soon...ooh talk of the devil" Jen said noticing Tre coming down the hallway
"Hey guys.....DUDE YOU GOT THE HAIR CUT" Tre shouted noticing the hair
"I know aint it shnazzey" Mike replied
"Yeah its so cool, hi-five" Tre shouted holding his hand up and Mike hi-fived it
"Tre your acting crazy what news do you have from Treland" Jen asked
"We're doing the opening act, we're doing the opening act" Tre chanted hopping around
"Cool" Jen replied
"Yes I can try out my new hair in front of an audience" Mike said happily
"Sure guys I've got to get to Geography see ya" Jen said walking off. Mike then sighed and gazed at Jen walking
"Are you in love with Jen?" Billie Joe asked
"Yep and I expressed my feelings last night and she feels the same way" Mike answered
"Lets get to class already" Tre suggested
-Geography-
"Yo Jen here" Jens friend shouted
"Hey Abi" Jen said sitting down
"Whats up with you, you looked dazed?" Abi asked
"Nothing" Jen replied
"You've got a boyfriend haven't you" Abi said in a patronising manner
"Yes, you know Mike" Jen asked
"Yep" Abi answered
"Its him" Jen replied
"Cool, he is pretty handsome" Abi remarked
"Yep, oh ye we have a concert this Sunday thanks to him and Aarons not gonna be there" Jen told her
"Ok I'll tell the others" Abi answered
"Thanks now lets get on with this annoying work" Jen suggested
~That night~
Jen and Mike got ready for the concert. Jen had on her old trousers with a tartan patch on them to cover a hole, black t-shirt and a Clash hoodie; Mike had on a sex pistols t-shirt with some jeans and a jumper. They met up with Billie Joe and Tre at Gilmans and went inside. They stood there and then Gideons band "The Junkies" came on stage, the set up was Gideon on bass and back-up vocals, Eyal on guitar and lead vocals, and there friend Ben on drums, they started off with there own song called 'Never coming back'. Jen looked at her brother and saw his passion for the song and remembered when he wrote it, he wrote most of the songs for the band. Jen then took off her hoodie and Mike hugged her from behind and stroked her arms to keep her warm. They then did a cover of The Clash 'London Calling' and Mike then got a drink from the bar. The concert ended and Jen went to get Gideon to congratulate him and to get him home before he got drunk.
"Thanks for being here Jen" Gideon said hugging Jen
"Your welcome" Jen replied
"Lets get home" Gideon suggested
"Sure c'mon Mike lets get outta here" Jen said dragging Mikes hand along
They got back home and Jen got into her pyjamas and went into the kitchen with Mike, Matty was still up and was watching TV.
"Jenny theres a letter for you on the table, I think its from Charlie" Matty shouted and Jen heart skipped a beat
"Thanks" Jen said grabbing the letter in a flash before Mike could
"Whos Charlie" Mike asked
"Erm just a old family friend from when we lived in England before we moved here around 5 years ago" Jen answered lieing ever so slightly
"Ok, c'mon lets get some sleep Matty you get to bed" Mike shouted
"Your not my brother" Matty answered
"I know but I can lift you up into the ceiling" Mike replied
"Ok" Matty said zipping to his bedroom. Jen and Mike then went into Jens bedroom, she had the letter in her hand still, as they went inside Jen hid it under some cds hoping Mike wouldn't notice. They got into bed and Jen went to sleep but little did she know Mike saw her hide the letter and took it and started reading it.
