The Boy With The Green Orbs!, chapter 6
recap* A familiar car drove past and as we were just getting around the corner we heard screeching car tyres.
"Oh shit." I said. I remembered whose car that was.
"What?" Billie and Rach said at the same time. But it was too late my mother was already out of the car coming towards us...
Layla's Point of View
"That's my mum's car." I said barely louder than a whisper, feeling myself starting to shake.
"Its alright babe, I'm here and I won't let her touch you." Billie whispered in my ear and grabbed my hand. I felt a little better but not much because this woman who called herself my mothered scared the crap out of me.
"Baby, there you are, your father and I have been so worried. Why don't you come home now and we'll have some fun." Mum said in a stupid voice and putting a lot of emphasis on the word fun. I know what fun is for her.
"No Mum, I'm happy wear I am and I'm staying." I said firmly, Billie squeezed my hand. Then she pulled me away from Billie and Rach.
"Look you little bitch, get in the car now! Your father wants a word with you and so do I!" She whispered angrily in my ear. I pulled away and went back to Billie's side and he grabbed my hand again.
"No Mum, I'm not going anywhere." I said this time with more force.
"We'll talk about this later then" she said through clenched teeth. Then she turned around and walked back to her car.
I relaxed and Billie embraced me in a loving hug but before I knew it I was pulled off him and facing my mother again. I started shaking again and she slapped me across the face, Billie was about to say something but mum started yelling before he got a chance,
"HOW DARE YOU! COME HOME IMMEDIATLEY OR I'LL DRAG YOU THERE BY YOUR HAIR!" She screamed at me, by now I was crying but Billie stepped in before she could hit me again.
"How dare YOU treat her like that? I don't understand, she's the most beautiful girl in this entire world and you treat her like shit. Stay away from her or I'll call the cops." He spat at her. He grabbed my hand and we walked off to his place with Rachel's arm around me.
We reached his house and silent tears were still flowing out. All the way to his house Billie had been whispering encouraging words into my ear like Its gonna be ok and I've got you. Sweet things like that. He led us through into the living room where Tre and Mike were playing the play station.
"Tre stop cheating you dickhead!" Mike yelled.
"I'm not cheating, just alternating the rules!" he said back with a cheeky grin on his face.
This made me laugh so they both turned around and saw us come in. Tre's widened when he saw Rach though, and she noticed too so she started to blush. Mike turned the Play station off and they both came and sat with us. Billie sat down on the couch and pulled me on top of him.
"Uhh lets go get lunch ready." Mike said, motioning for him, Tre and Rach to leave the room. Billie looked at Mike with a look of gratitude and rapped his arms around me. I snuggled up to him and the tears started leaking out again.
"Are you okay?" He whispered into my ear.
"Yeah I guess, thanks." I said looking up at him. He placed his lips on mine and gave me a short, sweet kiss leaving me to want to kiss him again. We relaxed and I put my head on his chest. We lay there for about 10 minutes when Tre, Rach and Mike walked out with a ball of nachos.
"You alright now?" Mike asked with a small smile on his face. I guess Rach told them what happened.
"Yup." I said, smiling back. Rach and Tre were deep in conversation on the other couch. I guess there going to get together!
After we finished lunch we played play station till bout 8pm when Tre finally got up and ordered pizza. We had dinner then watched a couple of movies. At about 12 Billie and me decided to go to bed. Mike had already gone up to bed but Rach and Tre were asleep on the couch so I decided not to wake them coz they looked so cute together! I put a blanket and went up to bed.
When I got up to my room Billie was waiting. He grabbed my hand and led me into his room.
"This is our room now..." He whispered in my ear, sending shivers up my spine.
We got ready and climbed into the bed. Billie pulled me closer and I fell asleep to the sound of his voice singing Wake me up When September Ends, sending me into a deep sleep.
