A Crazy Summer With New Friends, chapter 1
"Sometimes I can't understand. How can she sleep so peacefully when the music that is coming from her headphones is that loud? Well anyway I get used to her little weird things. She is my best friend for the rest 5 years. Maybe because of no-one besides her can understand me."
I was thinking of this when the air hostess announced that the plane is landing. I proadded the girl sleeping beside me, saying, "Come on Beste wake up, we are landing." Before she woke up, I proaded her for a little while.
"Uh-what? Where are we?" she said with sleepy eyes.
"We are landing California. You better pack up your things." We packed up our scattered stuff and headed to the door to get out of the landed plane. When we were getting out, we heard a shout.
"Hey girls, I'm here!" We turned tı the side that the shout came coriuosly and saw Deniz. We ran down the stairs and ran to him. "I'm not going to ask how the trip was because I know the road of Turkey to California is a complete disaster. Ok anyway, let home to my house you will get some rest," he said.
"Okay."
We got in his car and headed to his house. Deniz was Beste's cousin and the only one in our families who supported us to spend our summer break in America. And he was around our age, well 2 years older than us, so he was 18. He was living alone in his house so it was ok for him that we were staying with him.
We drove a little while and reached his house. It was obvious that he was living alone. We went inside of the house. It was a really messy place.
"The last room on the corridor on upstairs is your's," said Deniz.
We both said ok and went upstairs. Deniz had enough instruments to suffice a few bands. But the look of his house, you could deny it easly. In the room, there were only a bed, a couch, an old closet and a broken television. I put my bass that I was carrying on my shoulder on the couch, next to Beste's guitar.
We didn't bring so many things so our unpacking was done in minutes. We went downstairs to find Deniz. He was preparing a sandwich for himself. Beste went in to the kitchen and started to talking Deniz.
Meanwhile, I was looking around the living room. Then I saw pictures on the table in the living room. There were Deniz and 3 other guys that I didn't know. Obviously they were drunk. I started laughing. Then Beste heard me laughing.
"What's going on?" said Beste. I showed her the pictures that I found. Her green eyes looked like nonsense first, but when she realized it, she joined my chuckles. She showed the picture to Deniz.
"Who are them?" she asked.
"Oh it's good that you showed that. Well they're my best mates from school. They have a gig tonight you know they have a band. So we are going to the gig tonight.but if you want to rest that's ok," he said.
"Oh no, we can go. We rested enough in the plane," said Beste.
"Speak for yourself. I even couldn't blink because of the music coming from your headphones. If I didn't have the same taste in music, you would be dead now," I said.
"Hey, if you're going to argue like this, then I won't take you anywhere," said Deniz. Then we stopped arguing.
"What time will we go? I asked to Deniz.
"We will be going in 1-2 hours," Deniz replied.
"Then I will take a shower. I won't go anywhere looking like this!" said Beste.
"Ok. I will take a shower when you're out then," I said.
"Ok." We were alone with Deniz. I decided to take an advantage of this oppurtunity.
"I just wanted to say thanks for both of us to letting us stay here. Well Beste is your close friend and cousin but you didn't know me really much. I hope we are not being a burden for you." He just smiled softly.
"You girls are always like this, you thank everything for thousand times. Yes that's true that I love Beste very much, but I'm really pleased to knowing you," he said. I didn't know why but I was feeling something different to him. Then Beste, who was combing her wet hair came in the room.
"I'm done Ezgi, you can take a shower," she said. So I went upstairs without saying a word.
----Beste's point of view----
"So what do you think of them?" I asked.
"Huh-what? Who?"
"The band that have a gig tonight. Oh God Deniz, where's your mind?"
"Uh sorry. Well I think they are really good. They are really loved here," he replied.
"Good then. So I will go upstairs to get ready. Ezgi will finish her shower soon," I said and I went upstairs.
---Ezgi's point of view---
It was a little bit hard to get out from the shower without falling. Like the other parts of the house, the bathroom was a mess. I started to comb my hair while looking in the broken mirror. Meanwhile lots of things were strolling in my mind.
He has a cute smile. And beautiful eyes. I'm acting like I like him. Well, do I like him? It would be really strange because Beste is my best friend. Oh I'm thinking too much. I don't even think that he likes me. Then Beste came in to the bathroom and seperated me from my thougths.
"We better hurry up, we will be going out in 30 minutes," she said.
I got dressed quickly. She was already dressed. She did her reddish brown hair (like two tails coming on the two sides on her head) looking to the broken mirror. She put black eyeliner in her eyes. And she said, "I'm ready." Then I combed my long brown hair again, put black eyeliner on and said,
"I'm ready." We went downstairs. Deniz was waiting for us.
"Let's go. We are going to be late," he said.
