Brand New Beginning (Sequel To Wicked Times), chapter 2

Once we stepped into the shop we were greeted by a nice, slim lady.
The lady had dark brown hair that was up in a ponytail. Her hair had grey streaks that shimmered in the light. It didn't look as if she ever tried to dye her hair. Her light blue eyes smiled at us.
The lady held out her right hand and greeted us warmly. "Hello, my name is Kelly. How may I help you?"

I looked over at Adie.
Adie had her hand stretched out, re-turning Kelly's handshake. Adie cleared her throat and politely told Kelly. "Yes, this is Alexis," Adie nodded her head in my direction, telling Kelly I was Alexis, "we need to find a wedding dress. We're looking for a white traditional wedding dress."

Kelly nodded and ushered us to the back of the store. She pointed to a rack of clean, white dresses and informed us "These should be nice choices. If you need anymore help just holler."

Adie answered with a semi fake smile and said, "Ok."

After about thirty minutes of shifting through dress after dress I found my 'perfect' dress. I was so shocked to find a dress that I thought was so perfect so soon. I was glowing. I was so sure this was some kind of record for a bride finding their wedding dress.

Adie asked "Did you find a dress?"

I replied back breathless by saying, "Yes."

I held out the white dress to show Adie. The dress had a nice flowing train on it. It was called a 'Crepe Princess Gown'.
Overrated name, I know, but what dress doesn't have a name like that?
Scattered all over the dress was small, silver beads. There was silver edged lace that sat on the white and ivory cloth. Tiny pink flowers were nicely scattered below the waist flowing down toward the train. They had gold edged lace and silver beads.
The gown had small straps that were also covered in lace. The straps were only about an inch long, but very lovely.

It was so beautiful. I knew for sure that Brook would like it. I smiled at Adie.
Together we went up to the front counter to pay for the dress.
Kelly was at the front desk. She didn't smile this time.
But she kindly asked "Did you find a dress?"

This time Adie didn't need to speak for me. I said "Yeah," I quickly corrected myself by saying, "Yes, I found my perfect dress."

I laid it on the counter for Kelly to see and tell us how much we owed her.

She said "Wonder choice." She looked at the price tag on the dress and said, "$325.00"

She carefully pulled a bag over the dress. Adie handed her a credit card and Kelly quickly handed me the dress. Then Kelly pulled the credit card through the cash register slot. Kelly handed Adie a slip of paper to sign. Adie signed it and gave it back to Kelly.

Finally we walked out of the store. Adie huffed, "What a stressful experience!" She added to quickly, "No offence."

I laughed at what Adie said to me. Still laughing I said, "Yeah, Adrienne this wasn't a party for me either."

Adie said "You'd think that getting ready for a wedding was so stress free, so exciting, what you waited your whole life to do," Adie then mumbled, "The way movies and TV's show weddings."

I looked at Adie as we got into the car. I whispered to myself, "No, Adie, the actual getting wedding is what you wait your whole life to do."

Adie heard me because she smiled fully and said, "It changes your life forever, not always for the good when you think about it. But it's such a wonderful thing, you just have to take the bad and deal with it."
