Brand New Beginning (Sequel To Wicked Times), chapter 3
We both had decided to go to the nearest bakery in town. It was also one of the best bakerys that we had around. It was called Rain's Bakery and it wasn't too far away from the dress shop. It was only getting to be 4:00. Once we got out of the car and went into the bakery. We were surprised, no one seemed to be there.
I thought, Maybe we should wait or are they to busy for customers?
After ten minutes a girl with dyed red hair and glazed grey eyes came out from the back room. She didn't smile or try to be friendly. Which I thought was weird. She asked, "Anything I can help you with?" She had a hint in her voice that said 'I don't care what you want or what you do.' I looked at her strangely and said,
"Yep, I'm trying to look for just the right wedding cake." I smiled a fake smile. The girl said,
"My name is St. Carrie." She had venom and sarcasm in her voice. She added before I could say anything, "You marring Brook?" I was stunned and so confused. She didn't really mean Brook did she? I mean there's a lot of guys with the same name, right?...Maybe not! Then a woman ushered 'St. Carrie' out of the room. She said,
"My dear! I'm so sorry...really Hun. The girl didn't mean anything by what she said." I looked behind the lady at the girl standing in the door way. Her bright red hair made her stand out and those gray glazed eyes reminded me of Brook in a way, but yet they didn't. The girl smirked at me and vanished into the back room. We went around and tasted about every cake they had. I decided on choosing one that was called 'Cream Cheese Pound Cake'. It was a dense cake, rich with cream cheese frosting. The cake would be white and would have three tiers to it.
I left that store wondering what did that girl want? Who was she? Did Brook know her?

I found the key to my apartment door. Once I entered the door I shut it and locked it back. I went in through the kitchen into the living room to see Brook trying to tune an acoustic guitar. Once he saw me he put the guitar down and said, "Hello" warmly. I smiled a bit and decided to just come out and ask Brook.
"Do you know a girl named Carrie Rain?" Brook looked at me crazily and said,
"No Hun...why?" I spat back.
"Because she sure knows you. Does the name St. Carrie ring any bells in that brain of yours?" Brook said,
"Look Alexis I don't know anyone with that name. I'm sorry Hun, I don't. Can you explain these things to me?" Brook always use my name, 'Alexis' when we started out with a conversation that is very serious.
"Ya...sure, why not? This girl at Rain's bakery asked me if I was marring you! Why would someone ask me that?"
"I don't know Hun. I'm as confused as you...maybe she heard it through the media?!" I spit back.
"Sure she did...especially when no one in the media knows anything about the wedding, yet! Hey! There might not even get a wedding!" I then hoarsely said. "Brook I'm leaving because you're lying to me. Have a nice time with St. Carrie!" Brook yelled,
"Hey! Alexis come back here now! Come back!" I screamed,
"No! I'm not your slave! And I won't take this from you." I went outside in the dark. The moon was full, so that meant it wasn't completely pitch dark. I brought this fight on myself. I know I did. I wanted to apologize to Brook, but my pride and stubbornness wouldn't let me. Not in till morning at least.
I drove my car toward Adie and Billie Joe's house. That was my second home, my real home...
