Life In Paradise, chapter 14

that morning was even worse than the night prior! I couldn’t even stand up from the stair in the kitchen. There was more boxes to unload today, but I couldn’t get up. Billie had to go on tour today. He postponed the tour until the day the we moved into our new house. I kissed and hugged him good-bye and started to cry! I didn’t want to be without him again! But I promised that if the pain got worse I would go see a doctor.
That day, all I did was read (newspaper, books, etc..) and watch t.v. I couldn’t do much else. The sharp pains went psycho on occasion and then went back to normal. It was just on and off and I didn’t know what was causing them! So, I decided to go to the doctors office and check it out!
When I got to the doctors, he did some kind of a scan thing-ee. Then he told me that I had a Kidney disease. I was shocked. I asked him how this came about and he said it was from lack of the minerals and vitamins that are needed. Holy shit!
I called Billie Joe from the hospital and told him about my disease. He told me that he would come pick me up and take me on tour with him so that he could take care of me. Bah. But I went to the airport where there was a plane waiting for me. It flew me out to New York and Billie Joe and Adrienne were waiting for me at JFK! Then we went to the hotel and I slept for about four hours and woke up in the middle of the night crying my eyes out. Well, this woke up Billie Joe.
“What’s wrong, sweetie? he asked.
“The pain is killing me! I shouted. I clenched my stomach in pain and held on to the skin. I tried moving, but I couldn’t. Billie carried me to the bathroom and I threw up in the toilet. Now, I don’t mean to gross you out, but...it wasn’t food that I threw up, twas blood. Billie carried me back into the bed and layed me down. There was blood on my shirt that I was sleeping in and it got onto the sheets and eventually the mattress. Billie called for Tre and Mike, who were in the other room, and Tre called the hospital. An ambulance came and took me into the emergency room. It was complete chaos. I didn’t know what was happening. All I saw was a bunch of people standing over me and some kind of a needle being stuck into my side. I screamed in pain, but I was out like a light in five minutes.
When I woke up, I was in the hospital room, Billie was sitting in the seat next to a small table. It was still dark outside, I could see from the window. Then Billie Joe got up and called for the doctor. The doctor came in and told us what was happening to me. My blood stream was getting high and my Kidney was leaking blood. I would need to get a kidney removed. Just one though. I would come in for surgery next week. I hated this. Not only did I have to get a kidney taken out, but it would postpone the tour and it would only make it harder on Billie, Mike, and Tre.
