Life In Paradise, chapter 15
a week later, I got surgery. I was in Washington D.C. at the time and Adrienne agreed to go back to New York with me to get my surgery done. It was the scariest thing that I had undergone in a long time.
A day after the sugery, i was still in New York and Adrienne took me shopping. My doctor said that I was supposed to gain weight so that I could get healthier. But before we went shopping, we went and sat down at a little café. I looked sick. I had no makeup on, my hair was done (thank god that I went to a salon before hand), and I just looked pale and like a dead person. My face looked like I was about to throw up. I stared sullenly at Adrienne as she ordered us coffee.
“What’s wrong?� she asked.
“Adrienne, thank you for everything. It really means a lot to me.�
“Oh, it’s no problem. Anytime!� she answered, taking a sip of her coffee.
After we were done, we went to all the vintage thrift stores. I found a blue dress at the flea market. It was lacy and a vibrant blue. It wrapped over my shoulders and hung down. I tried on, came out, spinning around merrily, and took a look in the mirror. Adrienne was on her cell phone with Billie Joe. She handed me the phone. The sound of his voice reassured me that everything was gonna be okay.
“Hey! How you holden up?� he asked.
“I’m fine. I look like a sick person, but I’m shopping, so I’m happy.� he laughed and I giggled.
He said that he loved me and that he’d meet me in London, our next stop for the tour. I didn’t want to be a burden to the band and their tour, so I said that I’d stay for the Paris show and then I’d go home. He didn’t fight with me and just agreed.
London-
In London, the show was brilliant! He even brought me up on stage and asked me to help him sing “She�! I knew all of the words and I was so happy to be up there with him. When we were done with the song the crowd was screaming, “kiss her!� So, he did. Then...oh you are going to love this...he knelt down on one knee, pulled a ring off of his finger, and put it on my finger. I started to cry. This was way too much for me to swallow.
“Natalia,� he said into the mic. “Would you marry me?� OH MY GOD!!! I said “yes� immeditatly. The crowd was going wild! They were cheering him on. Tre and Mike came over and congratulated us. It was a night of magic!
