"There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
and she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows if the stores are all closed"
A soft voice made Billie Joe look up from his writings. He looked at the stage; a beautiful girl was sitting there with a guitar singing "Stairway to Heaven."
"With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.
There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings,
sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
ooh, it makes me wonder."
Billie was shocked, both by her looks and her gorgeous voice. "She's a punk, no doubt about that," he thought.
"If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the May queen.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
there's still time to change the road you're on.
And it makes me wonder."
Her hair was black and red, and she had dreads. Billie had never seen a girl with dreads who actually looked good with it. Her skin was pale and her eyes dark, he couldn't see the color. She was wearing a red shirt and black jeans and was wearing a lot of eyeliner.
"Hey dude, wassup?" His friend Trè Cool asked. Billie didn't answer, just kept watching the girl. Trè also looked at the stage. "What, the girl? Her name's Jackie." Billie stared at his green-haired friend. "How the hell do you know?" he asked. Trè looked at him. "I was here last night. Talked with her, you know. She's cool." He drank up his beer. "She just moved here, lives right down the street." Mike, another friend, walked over to them. "Hey guys, Jackie's quite talented, don't you think?"
Billie stared at him. "Am I the only one here who doesn't know who that girl is??" he asked, starting getting impatient. Mike looked at his friend. "You weren't here last night. Why do you make so big deal out of it?" Trè laughed. "Billie's in looooooove," he said and laughed even harder. Billie smacked Trè in his head. "I'm NOT in love, Trè, fuck off. I don't even know her. And I've got Adie, right?" Billie blushed a bit, but in the dark pub no one noticed. Trè nodded. "Yeah, that's right..."
"And she's buying a stairway to heaven."
*Jackie's P.O.V.*
I finished the song, and smiled - the audience was going nuts! It was not my favourite song, but it was ok. I said 'thank you' and got off the stage. The night before I met a couple of guys, Trè and Mike. They seemed cool, so I took a look around to see if they were there that night as well. They were sitting in a couch by a table in the corner along with another guy I didn't knew who was. I smiled and waved to them, then started getting through the room. It was hard; the pub was very crowded that night. "Hey guys," I smiled and sat down in the couch next to the stranger. "Hi, I'm Jackie" He shook my hand. "I'm Billie Joe." I smiled again and winked. "Nice to meet you, Billie Joe." He blushed a little. "Nice to meet you too." He was quite good looking, black hair and green eyes. But Trè is prettier, I thought to myself. Even though he had green hair, he was really handsome; his bright blue eyes could kill!
"Wow Jackie, you've got a beautiful voice! I'm shocked." Trè said and winked. I could tell by the heat in my cheeks I was blushing. "Thanks Trè. But it wasn't that good." Mike laughed. "No, it was better! Right, Billie?" Billie nodded silently. All of a sudden Trè got up on his feet. "Hey look, it's that homophobic guy! Quick, switch places!" Next moment Trè sat next to me and Billie next to Mike. Billie put his arm around Mike and smiled to me. "See that man over there?" Trè said and pointed at a tall skinny man with brown hair. "Yeah, what's about him?" Trè laughed. "Wait and see Jackie baby." I blushed again but nodded. The man started walking over to the bar right next to us. When he saw us sitting there he hesitated, but kept on walking. When he got really close Mike and Billie started making out! I think my eyes nearly fell out of my head. Then Trè put his arm around me. "Act like nothing," he whispered in my ear and kissed my cheek. I nodded, still shocked. But not as shocked as the poor man! He stared at them with huge eyes and open mouth for a few seconds then turned around and ran out of the pub.
We laughed out loud. "Did you see his face?" Billie yelled and laughed even harder. Trè's arm was still around my shoulders. After a while we stopped laughing and Mike and Billie also noticed Trè's arm around me. "Erm, we should go, right Mikey?" Billie said. "Don't call me that. But you're right, we gotta go. See ya tomorrow Trè! Maybe you too Jackie." Mike said and got up from the couch. "Sure, bye guys!" I said and grinned. "Bye girls!" Trè said and laughed. They left, and I sat there alone with Trè and his arm around my shoulders. A dream came true!
