A Series Of Unfortunate Green Days, chapter 1

If you clicked on this link in hopes of a story with a happy ending then please press the button labelled "back" right away. In this fan fiction, not only is there no happy ending, there is no happy beginning and an insufficient amount of happiness in the middle. It is an unfortunate tale of three male band members, Billie Joe Armstrong, Michael Pritchard and Frank Edwin Wright III and the misfortune that follows them wherever they go.

The misfortune began one night at a concert where the three band members (also know as Green Day) were playing. Frank Edwin Wright III (more commonly known as "Tré Cool") was sitting on his throne and pounding his drums in a strict rhythm as if to say, "I am the definition of excellence". Michael Ryan Pritchard (who goes by the name "Mike Dirnt") was using his expert fingers to pluck at his bass while pulling odd faces as if to declare, "Just because I'm a rock artist doesn't mean I can't pull odd faces". Billie Joe Armstrong (also known as "Billie Joe Armstrong") was of short stature and singing his little heart out as if he was saying, "I hope the audience enjoys my performance".

Just outside, a series of fire engines sped past blaring their sirens. Of course Green Day were playing their instruments too hard and singing too loud to hear the wailing of the sirens and screaming coming from their three burning houses. If only they stopped performing to peer outside and follow the fire trucks like the numerous curious citizens who did so. If only they got to their houses in time to save their families from the awful twist of fate then this story would have happier situations instead of a miserable one which leaves Billie knocked out and Tré trapped in a coffin. Unfortunately for Tré, Mike, Billie and their families, that's not how the story goes.

Billie was halfway through singing a song when he felt someone tap his shoulder. He ignored it and continued to sing and play his guitar. The person tapped his shoulder again and made a loud hacking noise. Billie started to become extremely irritated, a word which here means - wishing that the person would stop tapping his shoulder and go away.

"Please stop tapping my shoulder and go away," said Billie, finishing his song, covering the microphone and finally turning around to face the stranger.

Billie couldn't see the strangers face because he was coughing into a large polka dotted handkerchief that covered his face. Billie realised with horror that the stranger was coughing into his handkerchief. It was sitting in his left pocket mere seconds ago, a method commonly used to illustrate ones sexuality.

"The name is Mr. Poe," said Mr. Poe. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Armstorm. I'm sorry for snatching your handkerchief, but it isn't polite to cough into ones hand or other peoples faces you know"

"It's also quite rude to pickpocket," said Billie Joe irritably. He looked over at Mike who had his eyebrows raised. Tré was looking over at Billie with a small smile on his face. Billie signalled for them to wait a second or two while he found out what Mr. Poe wanted.

"What do you want?" asked Billie impatiently.
"I'm afraid I have some grave news that concerns your family" said Mr. Poe.
"What?" said Billie, his green eyes widening.
"I'm afraid I have some grave news that concerns your family" repeated Mr. Poe.
"What has happened?" said Billie impatiently.
"Please come with me and we shall sort things out," said Mr Poe. "They," he said gesturing to Mike and Tré, "must come with me as well." Mr. Poe coughed a few times into the handkerchief before handing it back to Billie and walking towards the back part of the stage.

Shaking, Billie slowly took off his guitar and placed it on the floor, despite the cries of negativity coming from the audience. He signalled for Mike and Tré to go with him backstage. And with that, all three members of Green Day walked off stage, leaving their instruments and good fortune behind.
