Billie and Amanda, chapter 15

Amanda walked over to Billie's house early the next day. She didn't want him to feel like she had been ignoring him lately. She was just really sad and depressed. Jimmy had died. Committed suicide. Just like that. He was gone. Forever. Amanda walked up the steps to Billie's house thinking, I've lost two people dear to me, I will not lose Billie. She rung the doorbell.
"Hold on!" an unfamiliar voice screamed. A girl about Amanda's age opened the door, smiling.
"Hi, I'm Desi, you must be Amanda," she shook Amanda's hand.
"Um... yeah," Amanda said confused.
"Oh, I'm Mike's girlfriend," she added. Amanda relaxed a little.
"Billie's out back if you need him," she said.
"Oh yeah, thanks." She walked over to the back and saw Billie sitting on the porch swing. He was smoking a cigarette and looked lost in thought.
"Hey," Amanda said softly, sitting down next to him. Billie snapped out of his trance and grinned.
"Hey," he said back. He put one arm around Amanda and pulled her close to him. Amanda smiled and took the cigarette out of his mouth and took a puff.
"Come'on stop, that's bad for you," Billie said taking the cigarette from her mouth and throwing it away.
"So? You do it." Amanda rested her head on his chest.
"That's... that's different," Billie said.
"Not it's not," Amanda argued back. Billie kissed her softly on her neck.
"What's going on with you?" he asked.
"What do you mean?" Amanda questioned.
"I dunno, you've been... quiet lately," Billie said.
"I-I just-" Immediately thoughts of Jimmy filled her head.
"You can tell me anything babe," Billie said, lifting her head, sensing something was going on.
"I'm just, just-" Amanda staggered.
"Not ready to tell me yet?" Billie finished," It's OK. When you're ready, I'll be here, to listen." Amanda was shocked at his behavior. She didn't think he would be so-so understanding.
"Thanks," Amanda breathed. Billie grinned. He leaned in and kissed her. It was nothing like she had ever experienced before. Her heart skipped a beat. Once Amanda pulled away, she noticed they were laying on the swing, her on top of Billie. Billie put his arms around her and hugged her.
"I have a question. If we ever got, y'know, married, would you keep your last name or take mine?" he softly spoke in her ear. His breath tickled her neck. Amanda smiled.
"Would you love me any different?" she asked. Billie arms were parading up her shirt now, playing with her bra.
"Na," he said.
"Well I would be honored to be Mrs. Billie Joe Armstrong," she said.
"Really?"
"Fuck yes."

*

Billie and Amanda fell asleep on the porch swing. Amanda woke up first. She and Billie were laying next to each other, their arms wrapped around one another. Amanda turned her head to face Billie's. They were lying only inches apart. She just looked at him and smiled. God, he looks so cute when he's sleeping, she thought. Slowly Billie opened his eyes, looked at Amanda, and smiled.
"I love waking up to the sight of you," he said. Amanda blushed. Billie took his hand and placed it gently on her cheek. Once again, they leaned in and shared a kiss. After about a minute, they pulled away.
"Wanna go out?" Billie asked.
"Sure," Amanda smiled. The two got up and walked out of the house, into Billie's car.

*

Billie parked the car in the parking lot at the beach. They got out of the car and Billie walked toward Amanda, putting one arm around her waist and pulling her close.
"So, where do you wanna go?" he asked, as they started walking.
"I don't know," Amanda shrugged. Billie smiled.
"Lets get some ice cream," he suggested.
"Sure," Amanda said. She felt so safe with Billie, like nothing could harm her.

*

They walked up to the ice cream parlor and both ordered chocolate. Once they got their order, they took off, walking across the beach. Billie slipped one hand into Amanda's back pocket as they walked. It was silent for a while and then Amanda spoke.
"What do you wanna do?" she asked.
"Huh?" Billie said, spacing out. Amanda repeated herself.
"This," Billie said, pulling her into a hug. They began making out. After about 5 minutes they were interrupted.
"God, get a room!" Kaely screamed, tackling Amanda. Tre came rushing after her.
"Shit, you're fucking fast," Tre panted.
"Where the hell did you two come from?" Billie asked. Tre walked over to Billie and took his ice cream and began licking it. After a while, he gave it back to Billie, dripping in slobber.
"Uh, no thanks, you could keep it... " Billie trailed off.
"Come'on Mike and Desi are waiting by the surf shop. We're going to the Gilman." Kaely said. Amanda walked over to Billie and kissed him on the cheek.
"Let's go babe," she whispered in his ear. Together the four of them walked over to Mike and Desi. Then they packed together into Billie's car, which Kaely ended up driving. Tre sat next to her, still licking Billie's ice cream. Mike and Desi were in the backseat, and they soon began making out. Amanda got on Billie's lap, facing him.
"I love you," she whispered. Billie kissed her neck softly as the sun began to set over the horizon.

*

When the group arrived at the Gilman, it was packed. They parked the car and started walking toward the Gilman.
"Fucking hell!" Kaely screamed as they pushed through people, many of them drunk. One drunk guy bumped into Amanda and knocked her onto the floor.
"Shit!" she screamed as she fell on the floor. She was out of Billie's sight, but only for a minute. Billie dove under all the people and got her. After that he was much more protective. He had one arm around Amanda, and one in front of her, pushing people away. Amanda held onto him, as if for dear life. Finally they reached the bar.
"Looks like we lost them," Amanda screamed over the crowd.
"Huh?" Billie screamed back.
"We lost Mike and Tre," she yelled back. Billie looked around, noticed she was right, and shrugged. After a few seconds, he grabbed Amanda into a bear hug, and began sloppily kissing her neck.
"Ah! Stop Billie, stop-ah! That tickles!" she yelled out, between fits of laughter.
"Hey kids! You want a drink or not?" the bartender asked.
"Uh, yeah, a couple beers please," Billie asked with a wide grin on his face. He then turned to Amanda.
"Now where were we?"

*

Billie ended up having more than a couple of beers that night. Amanda drove him home. She got out of the car and pulled Billie out. He leaned on her.
"Manda?" he slurred.
"I'm here Billie," she said trying not to laugh. They made their way up the doorstep and into his house. Amanda lay Billie down on the couch.
"I'll be right back B.J., I'm gonna get you some pills and water-" she said.
"No, don't-don't leab me Mandy, pwease," Billie said, holding on to her arm. Amanda couldn't help but smile. He was so cute when he was drunk.
"Fine Billie," Amanda sighed.
"I'm not Billie, I'm President George Bush," he slurred.
"Sure you are," Amanda said absent mindedly.
"But my fwiends call me asshole," Billie said quietly.
"Ha ha," Amanda laughed. Amanda stayed with "George Bush" for the rest of the night.
