Billie and Amanda, chapter 4
Amanda woke up at 3 on Sunday afternoon. Shit she thought I'm going to be late for work! She jumped out off bed, took a quick shower, brushed her teeth, and fixed her hair back into a loose, messy bun. She put on a black Ramones t-shirt, tight black pants, and black laceless converse. Amanda put on some thick black eyeliner and some dark mascara, grabbed her cell phone and car keys and raced out the door.

By the time Amanda reached her job at the F.Y.E Music Store it was already 4 o'clock. She was supposed to be there at 3:30, but knowing her boss she would probably get yelled at and made to throw out the trash and do the dirty work. Oh well, she was thinking of quitting anyway and getting a job at Hot Topic. Amanda had just been promoted and was supposed to be unpacking and stacking CD's. It wasn't the greatest promotion, she knew, but she liked the job. She got to learn about different styles of music and she got discounts on CD's, which was good enough for her, seeing as she didn't make much money to begin with. Then her nightmare of a boss walked over.
"Why are you late?" he practically screamed.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Woo, I promise it won't happen again, you see, I had a late night and-"Amanda began.
"I do not care!" he said sharply.
"You have been late 3 times this week and-" he yelled but was interrupted by a young boy about the age of 13.
"Excuse me, sir where can I find the new Green Day CD?" the boy asked.
Mr. Woo just looked at the boy, then at Amanda, then the boy.
"Well, don't just stand there, help the kid!" he sputtered and walked away, muttering something about kids these days with his arms in the air. Amanda snorted and said, "Thanks kid, you saved my ass."
Then she walked toward the CD's and showed the kid the new Green Day CD.
"Here you go," she handed him one.
"You have good taste. I recommend At the Library, it's a good song," she told him.
"Thanks, bye," said the kid and walked over to the checkout counter. Amanda continued stacking CD's and movies until the end of the day and then drove home, exhausted.

On Monday morning, Amanda got ready for school. She got dressed, put on her make-up and ran to Kaely's house.
Together Kaely and Amanda walked to school. Kaely was the only true friend she had. Kaely ditched school on occasions and didn't really care about her grades, although she was able to pull off a 3.0 grade average. Amanda on the other hand knew she had to go to school and had a 4.0 grade average. She never ditched, although sometimes she felt like it. She was the captain of her varsity basketball team. Amanda was hoping for a scholarship. She wanted to do something with her life-anything-but most importantly she wanted to get out of this town. She hated this city and the only thing that kept her here was her band, Kaely, and now, maybe even Billie. Her thoughts were interrupted by Kaely saying,
"So what did you do this weekend?"
"Oh, I worked, slept, you know, the usual," she replied.
"I also met a guy," she said.
"Oh really?" Kaely's eyebrows shot up ,"about time you got a boyfriend."
"He is not," Amanda said, hitting her lightly on the arm. But Kaely was already running ahead towards school.

School was shit as usual. Amanda would meet up with Kaely and her boyfriend, Chris, at lunch and they would eat together and talk. Amanda didn't have a boyfriend but she could tell that Chris' and Kaely's relationship was coming to an end. They didn't talk much anymore or go out. Amanda's life went on like this until finally Friday came, and the next day was the concert.

Kaely was over at Amanda's house early on Saturday morning, to get ready.
"How're you gunna do your hair?" Kaely asked Amanda.
"Mmm, I'll dye it black with blue highlights," she replied.
"OK," Kaely told her.
Together they did each other's hair and make up, and even went shopping and they were both done by six.
Kaely was wearing a black and blue striped t-shirt with tight black pants and black converse. Her hair was black and pulled back. She was also wearing a cute pair of black earrings she had found at the mall. Amanda on the other hand, was wearing a black shirt that said " Punk's dead and I killed it" in big bold letters. She was wearing tight black pants and black converse. Her hair was black with blue highlights. Each girl had on black eyeliner and thick mascara. Kaely ,however, was wearing a little gloss.
They both sat in Amanda's car, Amanda put her foot on the gas and they were off, to have the time of their lives.
