Billie and Amanda, chapter 6
Amanda awoke the next morning with the sun in her eyes. She slowly looked down and saw she was not in her own bed. Then she remembered last night, with Billie. She looked over her shoulder and saw Billie was not there. Amanda got out of bed, but something caught her eye. She looked down on the little table Billie had next to his bed and saw a rose. A single red rose. She picked it up and smelled it. The fragrance of the beautiful flower filled her heart with passion and love for Billie.
God, she thought, he's so sweet. She looked down again and saw a piece of paper. She took the paper in her hands and opened it. What she read, in Billie's own scrawled writing made her cry:
'Cause I cannot speak, I've lost my voice
I'm speechless and redundant
'Cause I love you's not enough
I'm lost for words.
Her eyes flew to the bottom of the paper and she saw another message:
Amanda,
Meet me at 5th street at the surf shop down on the beach.
Sorry I had to go, but Tre called me and he needed a ride home- so did Kaely, cause they got too drunk last night. I didn't want to wake you. I'll be waiting for you.

Amanda looked at the note and smiled. God, he was the sweetest guy she had ever met! Now how in the world was she gonna get to the beach? She looked on the note but no other instructions were given. Then Amanda felt another piece of paper on the back. She turned the paper around and saw a twenty dollar bill taped to it. Of course, she thought, Billie leaves money but no way to get to the ... wait, a taxi! I'll take a taxi.
Amanda ran downstairs and called a taxi. Then she ran back upstairs and put on her clothes from the night before. She would tell the driver to take her to the house, where she could change, and then to the beach. Amanda grabbed the rose off the table and ran outside to wait for the taxi.
*
"Thanks sir!" she called out. The taxi had dropped her off on sixth street because there was too much traffic. She had changed into a dark blue button up shirt and a short skirt. She was wearing black converse and a couple wristbands. Amanda had on dark eyeliner and mascara(as usual).
She walked at a brisk pace towards the surf shop. Why did Billie want me here? she thought. I swear, I don't understand him sometimes. Just then a familiar pair of hands snaked their way around Amanda's body.
"I thought you'd never make it," Billie's voice whispered from behind her.
"What, and leave a complete hottie like you on your own-I think not," she replied, turning around so they were staring into each others eyes. Amanda put her hand on his cheek and they started kissing.
"Damn, you're a good kisser," Billie said, pulling away. Amanda blushed. She hadn't had many boyfriends, which meant she hadn't had much practice.
"Really?" she asked.
"Yeah," Billie said. Then as if out of nowhere Billie picked Amanda up and starting running towards the beach.
"Aaaahhhh!" Amanda screamed, "What are you doing Billie?"
"Taking you for a plunge in the water!" Billie screamed back.
"Wait!" Amanda began," I have my bathing suit on, lemme change!"
"Alright," Billie slowed down and sat down in the sand, Amanda on his lap. Amanda jumped up and began tickling him.
"Ah, stop! Stop!" Billie yelled, between fits of laughter. They were rolling around in the sand like a bunch of five year olds. Billie ended up on top of Amanda.
"You said you had to change, right?" Billie said, unbuttoning Amanda's shirt. Underneath Amanda's shirt she was wearing a bikini. Billie got up, and Amanda took off her shirt, skirt, and shoes, revealing a black bikini. Billie was just staring.
"Holy shit, Billie, put your eyeballs back in your head," she said, walking towards him. Billie blushed and looked down. Damn, she has a good body, he thought. Billie's thoughts were interrupted by Amanda pulling off his shirt.
"Come'on," she said," race ya!" Together they ran into the water and splashed around. Slowly they came together. They were looking deep into each others eyes. Billie's arms found themselves around Amanda's waist, and Amanda's arms we're around Billie's neck, and together the both leaned in and began kissing, passionately.
*
"Wanna get something to eat?" Billie asked Amanda. They were walking on the sidewalk, next to all the shops.
"Yeah, sure," Amanda replied, taking Billie's hand. He looked at her and smiled. God, she thought, he had the cutest smile. They walked into Sam's Bar and Grill, a small restaurant.
" May I take your order?" a preppy girl, dressed in a a pink Abercrombie t-shirt and a short Hollister skirt asked.
"Uh, yeah I'll have the cheeseburger and fries and a coke," Billie told her, but his eyes were on Amanda.
"Same here," Amanda said, blushing. The girl walked away.
"So," Billie asked," did ya like the show last night?"
"Yeah! It fucking rocked!" Amanda said, smiling. She was feeling a lot easier around Billie now. Billie was grinning like mad.
"So where are Kaely and Tre?" Amanda wondered.
"Well, Tre was so wiped out, I found him on the floor drunk, so I drove him home. Kaely didn't get drunk so she took your car and went home, but then went to Tre's to take care of him." Billie answered.
"Oh-hey Billie, do you smell that?" Amanda asked.
"Yeah, you know, it smells like something's burning. Hold on I'll go check," Billie got up and went to the counter. No one was there.
"Hello?" Billie called out. He walked behind the counter to the kitchen when he saw it... it was too big to stop...
meanwhile...
Amanda saw Billie leave behind the counter. Where the hell was he going? she thought. She got up to walk towards Billie but then she heard a familiar voice scream out-
"FIRE!"
It was Billie's voice.
