My Very Strange Surprise, chapter 3
Back in the house
My dad was just ariving home, when he walked in the door he saw everyone sat down talking " who the hell are they? and what they doing here?" he questioned in a wierd voice " they stopped to asked for directions and to borrow the toilet" my mum replied
" thats a point would you like to stay for dinner?"
" um...yeah sure if it's not a problem for you" Billie joe replied sounding uneasy
" do you know any good htels around here?" Mike says
" no there all crap, why you got know where to go?"
" no, we don't even know where were suppose to be" Mike said with a hint of a giggle
" oh, well you can stay here if you want"
" oh, are you sure that would be really kind of you as long as were not in the way" Billie joe said no even knowing what to say
" oh no it would be fine seems your not exactly strangers we can sort something out" my mum said with a smile
"well there strangers to me!" my broke out
" dad calm down there green day" i said showing him the american idiot album
" oh right, well thats really....cool we have celebrities staying at our house"
" yeah stay along as you like"
my mum done dinner then hours on everyone went to bed Mike in Colin's room, Billie joe i MY ROOM!!:) and Tre on the sofa as that is where he fell asleep
In the morning
" Morning!!" Billie joe screaming in my face
" god your a morning person!" i say still half asleep
" what time is it!" suddenly waking up
" why?" Billie joe asked
" i got to go to town and meet my friends" i say thinking im late
" ok i'll leave you to get changed"
" thanks" even though half of me wanted him to stay because i loved him so much. "So what you three doing today" i asked while eating a yoghurt
" i dunno" Tre says confused
" we would go in town but we'll get lost" Tre says giggling at himself
" well you can come in with me and meet my friends if you want"
" oh can we" Billie joe says
" yeah sure"
" can we can we can we?" Tre starts acting like a small child
" yeah it will be fun".
In town
I could not believe me and my friend were hanging out with green day and they were staying at my house, not many people came up to us which was a good thing.
We were all really hiper and acting like little children but Tre had to be the mist hiper out of everyone which was fun to watch.
At home
We had dinner and Tre offered to empty the dishwasher he burnt his arm on the steam when he opened it " oww!, my arm" he said in a moany childs voice
" Tre i think you better wait for the plates to cool down they get really hot" my mum said " ok" then when to sit down " well im just poping up the shop to get some cigarettes, where is the shop?" Billie joe said to everyone " do you want me to walk round with you? i say " yeah if you don't mind " then he smiled with relief
Walking to the shop
" So do you want me to get some for you?" Billie Joe says in the sweetest way
" nah I haven't got any money"
" yeah I know"
" I can't get any then"
" no I mean do you want me to buy you some?" I just look round in shock as I can't believe Billie Joe just asked me that but he is getting to know me really well and knows im still in shock for the last two days,
" you don't have to be so shocked it's only me"
" yeah thats right it is you" I say in a dreamy way
so we got in the shop I started to look at magazines when I heard " hi, can I have 200 mayfair superking please" I couldn't believe how many he was buying. We got out the shop, " why did you buy so many?" " there for me, Mike, you and Sadie to share" " oh, thanks but i really couldn't take any more than I already have" "you have only had one" Billie Joe coments as we start walking a way it was really dark out, just as we turn the corner someone jumps out of a bush and grabs hold of Billie Joe holding a gun and shouts at me to give him all of our money " just give him the money please " Billie Joe started pleading as he has a fear of guns I went to get the money out of Billie Joe's pocket ( not even realising where my hand was) I felt a small metal thing and pulled it out and whacked it across the mans head, he fell to the foor because I knocked him out Billie Joe quickly moved away from him, " do you think he's still alive?" because I feared that I killed him " nah, he's just knocked out come on thets go, just leave him he'll come round" we ran to the bottom of the street I looked at the man he slowly got up and walked off " what the hell is this?" I asked still holding the small metal thing " it's just something I carry around with me ever since I got mugged last time, you alright?" " yeah I'm fine what about you?" yeah im good just alittle shaky" we got to the bottom of my front garden " do you want to have a cigarette?" " yeah you want one? it's ok you can take one" we smoked our cigarettes and then he turned round and gave me the biggest hug ever, he was clinging on really tight while he was shaking.
Me and Billie Joe just hung around at home for the rest of the hoildays while everyone else went out.
*Night before first day back at school*
" So do you want go back?" Billie joe asked me just before we went to bed
" no I really don't to, and not just the same as any other person"
" why?"
" I just don't lets go to sleep now"
we get to sleep and I got up in the morning and went to school Billie Joe planned to spend the day listening to music with Mike and Tre. I got home from school and sat in the living room with Colin and Sadie, and then Colin started telling my how much people hate me and that I copy my friends and Sadie said " oh leave her alone" but then Colin said " oh but its fun" and looked at me I was almost crying trying to hold back the tears, then just managed to say " whatever Colin" and out out the room desperate to get to my bedroom Mike and Tre where in Colin's room I walked in my room and Billie Joe said " how was your day?" I couldn't answer I just started crying Billie Joe ran over to me I could not move Billie Joe started hugging me really tight then said " are you alright?, what's wrong?" he sounded really worried I finally said " to find out people want you all alone with the people you hate while your friends are all together and then come home to be told everyone hates you and saying I can't do anything I have to copy people than to hear they enjoy seeing you like this isn't that great" Billie Joe didn't say anything he just huged me tighter, well I there was nothing he could say.
Well I didn't go to school the next day so me and Green Day just hung out they were trying to make me feel better, I guess Billie Joe told Mike and Tre but I didn't mind because he couldn't hide anything from them, but they were cool about it because they made me feel better about myself then Mike looked at Billie Joe and then Billie Joe look at me with the sadest face ever and said " Abby I'm sorry but....we have to leave tonight we've got to catch a plane to america" " ok" I replied starting to cry " are you ok?" Tre said " yeah I'm fine " and gave them all hugs then " we'll leave our number so you can phone us anytime" Billie Joe said trying to make me feel better " thanks". It was around 5:00pm and Green Day were just about to leave when Billie Joe wanted to speak with me alone he gave me 60 cigarettes " oh my god are you sure?" " yeah I bought them for you" we hugged " how am I gonna be able to say goodbye to Billie Joe" " I know this is really hard" we went to the front door and we were saying goodbye and exchanging hugs " bye" I said one last time then went in.
Its been a week since green day left Abby's house.
Billie Joe could hear his phone ringing again " who the fuck is it now" saying just before he answered it
" hello"
" hi Billie Joe it's me Janet I was woundering if your free next week to fly to england?"
" yeah I'm free why?"
" it's Abby shes.....comitted suicide" Billie could hear Janet starting to cry and he had tears rolling down his face, Mike and Tre were looking at him really worried
" ok I'll get on a plane now see you in a few hours bye" then hung up the phone, "come on guys were going to England"
" now?, why?"Tre said as him and Mike didn't understand what was going on
" it's Abby"
" what about her?" Mike saying
" she has comitted suicide"
" oh my god" Tre and Mike said together then got in the car, went to the airport, got on a plane and arrived in england.
They arrived at Abby's house.
Abby's mum held out a note to Billie Joe, it was her suicide note it said
' I'm really sorry for what I have done and the path that I choose, I have been really depressed for a long time but I covered it up because I didn't want anyone to get in volved. I have always wanted to fit in with the people around me and for them to like me for who I am but I found out that could never happen I was always being left behind and pushed away but the pain I have been feeling was to much, you will never begin to understand just what I went though so I am really sorry. I have made my mistakes and I tried to live right but it didn't work, so tell everone I'm sorry, I love you goodbye Abby xxxx'
Billie Joe couldn't believe what he had just read he remembered seeing a big cut on her leg when he accidently walked in while she was changing, she said she walked into the corner of a table at school and he believed her because she seem like she would self harm.
After the funeral
Green Day had to go back to America and play a concert and half way though he said " this next song is dedicated to a friend called Abby Smith that recently done a stupid thing" then he started play Poprocks & Coke
