One Last Chance, chapter 27
For a moment Adrienne thought he had taken it badly because he said nothing and just sat there looking blankly at the opposite wall.
"Pregnant?" He asked quietly.
She nodded, "Yeah. Not completely sure but there is a good chance of it."
He grip tightened on her.
"Are you happy?" She asked.
"I'm so fucking happy I can't explain it."
She bit her lip, "Why aren't you cheering or celebrating or anything like that then?"
He laughed, "Because if I started I would probably never be able to stop." A grin spread across his face.
His body quivered with excitement.
"Fuck this."
He jumped off the bed and leaned out the window, "YES! I'M GONNA BE A DAD! YES!"
People on the street stared up at him as if he was insane. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" He yelled as he ran over and swept Adrienne off the floor and into a hug. "I love you so much. I cannot explain how happy I am." He snogged her and ran over to the phone. He dialled a number then waited a few moments.
"Who ya calling?" She asked as she came up behind him
He started jumping on the spot.
"Every one went to Tre's house last night so I'm calling him," He wiggled his fingers impatiently, "Hey." He said into the phone after a while.
There was a pause.
"That is because I am excited," He replied, "Who's there with you?"
...
"Ok. Cool. Can you put it on speaker phone I need every one to hear this."
...
"I'M GONNA BE A DAD!" He yelled into the phone.
Screaming came from the other end. "Can you guys come over?"
...
"Ok. I'll see ya in a few minuets then."
With that he hung up and grabbed Adrienne around the waist. In one movement he threw her onto the bed.
"I love you"
She smiled and kissed him, "I love you too. But like I said for sure I am not certain I am pregnant."
He shook his head, "Adie. Honey. I love you and I trust you. I am sure you know what you are talking about. You are pregnant I promise you."
She tilted her head to the side and smiled, "That is so sweet of you to be so convinced." She cooed, "But we should still make sure. Just to be on the safe side." She gave him on last kiss and got off the bed. "You can greet everyone who is coming over. I'm gunna pop down the chemist for a few tests. Love you," She raced out the door and got into the car.
She looked down at her stomach. The thought of a new little baby growing in there was mind boggling but amazing at the same time.

Billie Joe got dressed and went down stairs. He couldn't stop jumping all this time. He made some breakfast but the milk that he was putting on his cereal went everywhere and the toast got dropped on the floor about six times in all. He sat down at the table and started to read to read the sugar packet that was lying on the table. He was just trying to work out why a pack of sugar needed an ingredients list when the doorbell rang and he sprung off his chair to the front door.
He flung it open and was wrestled to the ground by Mike, Tre and his brothers.
"Ow," He wined as he got up. "I'm pleased to see you to but jeez." At that point his mum ran up to him and pulled him into a hug.
"I'm gonna be a grandma," She cooed.
He was confused, "You are a grandma. David Marcy and Anna all have kids."
She shrugged it off. "I'm gonna be a grandma AGAIN."
He laughed as his sisters walked up to him and smothered him in kissed, "Well done." They each said in turn.
He shook them off and glanced at the doorway. Adrienne had just come through with a big grin on her face. She nodded to indicate that she definitely was pregnant.
"YES!" Billie Joe yelled.
