Time Of Your Life, chapter 1

Trinity Taylor was an eighteen-year-old fan of one of the biggest hit bands that ever walked the road of fame. Little did Adrienne know, she was about to be the luckiest girl alive!

Trinity woke up to the sound of her radio blasting into her ears. Her eyes slowly opened as she eyed the clock.

"Uh... Only 7:30!" She said still half asleep. What really woke her up fully was an ad for two concert tickets to Green Day. She quickly jumped out of her bed and ran to the phone. Quickly she dialed the number of the radio station. Luckily she got through.

"Hello, you are caller number nine, you win VIP passes to Green Day." She heard the voice say.

"Oh my god! I can't wait!" She nearly screamed into the phone. She told the guy her address and hung the phone up. She was going to the biggest concert in her life and she got VIP passes. Trinity grew excited and bounded out of her Green Day covered room. She ran down the stairs and around the house until she grew weary and out of breathe. She walked to her bathroom, but stopped and stared at every picture on the way. As you probably guessed, they were of Green Day. She stared into Billie Joe's light green eyes. 'He has the most awesome eyes ever,' she thought and continued to the bathroom. All of her friends thought that Trinity of being too obsessed with Green Day. It wasn't her fault. She fell in love with them when she first saw their band Sweet Children play on Gilman Street in Rodeo, California when she was fourteen. She had met Billie Joe and Mike Dirnt then, but she didn't know if they would remember her.

"Oh well, maybe they will remember after all," she sighed while taking her clothes off to take a shower.

She thought of the songs they played and all of the concerts she had seen of the tube. As she got out and wrapped a towel around her she hummed Green Day's most recent song she had heard on the radio, moments after she called. Walking back into her room, she looked around, staring at all the pictures and posters, each one as unique as the last. She flopped onto her bed, now looking up at the poster on her ceiling. Closing her eyes tightly, but only to see them in her mind.

She sighed as she got up off her bed and put a black shirt and black pants. She headed over to the bathroom. There she put on her necessities, eyeliner and mascara, mostly. She tied her long, black hair up and walked out of the bathroom. Once again she lie on her bed and stared up at the ceiling. Thinking of how he came to like Green Day.

She was young, just a few days shy of her fourteenth birthday. Her parents had just gotten a divorce and she was still trying to cope with the fact that her parents weren't getting back together. After the divorce, her father had taken full custody of her and thought it would be a good idea to go on a vacation to get Trinity away from home.

She had gotten home from a rough day of school when her dad said; "We're going to California for a couple weeks. We leave tomorrow."

She ran up her stairs and into the room she once had. She got out her blue duffel bag with all of her favorite band names on it and shoved a couple weeks worth of clothes into it. She got out her red suitcase and filled it with most of her 'Important' things like The Clash Cds, The Ramones, The Cure. All of the Cds she owned went into that suitcase. She took out one of The Cure Cds she had and popped it into her CD player. She lied on her bed (she seems to do this a lot) and stared into the crystallized structures on her ceiling. She glared up until her deep brown eyes slowly fell, as it got dark.

She woke up to her father knocking on the door.

"Trin? Are you up yet? We have to be at the airport in two hours you know, so you better get ready," she heard from behind the door. Trinity sprung up from her nice warm bed and got dressed as quickly as she could. She ran down the stairs with her suitcase and duffel bag.

"Morning Starshine," her father said as she appeared in the kitchen.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me that?" She asked looking at her father in an irritated way.

"At least once more, as always," he replied with a smirk on his face. She rolled her eyes at his smart remark and headed for the freezer. She searched through it and pulled out a couple of frozen waffles. Popping them into the toaster-oven mounted on the wall, and looking back to her dad who seemed to be interested in the comic section of the newspaper he was reading. He laughed to himself as Trinity turned to get her waffles.

"Yum, I can taste the fat gaining already," she said silently as she put a whole bunch of syrup on them. She walked to the other side of the kitchen to get a fork.

"RODEO BAND GROWS BIGGER!" By Rachel Moore. She read the headline and thought, 'Wow I now can't wait to get to California to see this band.' She finished up her waffles and put her plastic dishes in the garbage.

"Okay Starshine, get your things into the trunk of the car, we're leaving in a bit," her father called while making his way up the stairs. She grabbed her things and ran to the black Cadillac in her driveway. She shoved her thing in the trunk and her father came out to put his things in. Trinity hopped into the front seat and put on her headphones. Her father got in, started the car, and drove out of the driveway, leaving their house and memories behind.

Meanwhile, in Rodeo, California while Trinity Taylor was in the car heading for the airport, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Al Sobrante were all practicing in their band Sweet Children. Billie sang and strummed the last note in the song F.O.D.

"Wow! That was awesome!" Tre said sounding enthused. Billie is kind of short even though he is fourteen. He has reddish-brown hair and the brightest green eyes you would ever see. He is the lead singer and plays the guitar, sometimes for Sweet Children.

Mike is tall and only fourteen. His hair is brown at the bottom and bleached blond at the tips. He is the bass guitarist for the band and backup singer.

Al was the drummer for all of it. He had shaggy brown hair and brown eyes. He always wore a black hat, except for at school. Al was the jealous type. Every time Billie or Mike would bring a girl home, he would get mad and leave.

Tre now has brown hair, which is green now cause he got bored at home one day. He is the drummer for his band The Lookouts. His real name is Frank Edwin Write III, but he was dubbed Tre Cool by the singer of The Lookouts. Tre has some weird characteristics, for one he has really light blue eyes, and for two he can make anybody laugh at any situation with his sarcasm.

Okay, now back to Trinity, by the way we're still in her flashback. I just took the time out of the driving concept to tell you what Sweet Children was doing while there was nothing but silence in her father's Cadillac.

Anyway... Trinity and her father reached the Minneapolis airport. After what seemed like hours of driving and finding a place to park, Trinity and her dad walked into the airport lobby only to be greeted by a cool gust of air. It felt good on a hot spring day. They wheeled their bags to the baggage claim, and passed them through. Trinity took one of her Sex Pistols CD's out and one of the Replacement CD's, just in case she got bored. She listened to what was left in the Clash CD she had playing when she stepped onto the plane.

She switched the CD's. She grabbed tightly as the plane took off. Once the plane was into the air she loosened her grip, and stared out the window. She wasn't scared of heights... much. She just didn't want to find out if it hurt to fall at this height. Her eyes slowly closed as she dreamed of what California was like. She had hardly been out of Mankato, let alone Minnesota.

As the plane landed their flight she woke up from her deep sleep. Her dad still next to her and looking at the seat in front of him. When the plane pulled up to the airport she and her dad loaded up the bags they took onto the plane and got off. A breeze of nice warm California air shot upon her as they exited the airport, luggage in hand. Her dad waved for a taxi and had trouble to get one.

"Dad... Dad you have to whistle, like this," with that comment she raised her thumb and pointer finger to her mouth and blew. All of a sudden a yellow car pulls up and they open the door to load their things in.

" To the finest hotel in Oakland," her dad told the taxi driver. The taxi was silent, just like the car ride and plane ride before them. Only this time there was a the sound of her CD player blasting to break the silence. "Can you turn that down a bit please," her dad asked almost yelling to get her attention. Trinity rolled her eyes, turned down her CD player and averted her head to the window.

" California used to be so beautiful," she thought as she saw a person walking their dog. Their silence was again interrupted by her dads cell phone ringing. " Hello?" he said, " Okay that's fine." He hung up and looked over to his daughter's gazing eyes, only to find them looking back. " Trin, we're going to have to stay longer in California," he said thinking he would get a disappointed reaction. " For how long?" she asked trying to keep her happiness. " Two months," he replied, still looking at her. " Yes! I love California!" she said trying to jump from her seat, but was stopped by her seatbelt.

She hit the seat with a thud. " Okay fun and happy time is over more window gazing," she thought and slowly turned her head to look out the window. After about an hour of gazing at random things, Trinity and her dad reached The Hilton.

They got out of the taxi and Trinity's dad paid the driver. They unloaded their suitcases from the trunk and the taxi drove off. As they walked into the hotel, Trinity could see a nice pool, arcade, and down the road there was a skate park. She couldn't' wait to go there but one thing Trinity had forgot was her skateboard.

Her dad had seen her looking down the street at the skate park, and took the bags out of her hand. " Here's $200.00, go spend it on what you like," he said giving her a wink. She took the money and quickly ran down the street to the skate park. She entered the park and looked around at all the guys there. She stared at on boy for most of the time. He had short reddish brown hair and from what she could see the brightest green eyes she had ever seen. He turned his head slightly only to see Trinity looking at him.

She averted her eyes and stared at the boarders on the half pipe. She stopped looking around and walked inside the building thing to buy a skateboard. " Hi, I'd like to buy a skateboard please," she said to the guy at the counter. " Okay... wait you're a girl, we don't sell to girls," he replied and turned. " Oh, okay then," she said back, now staring at her feet.

" No way! That's not fair!" she heard from behind her. It was the boy she was looking at. " Give the chick a board, or do you want me to tell everyone that you're forty years old, and still live with your mom, and that your real name is Cornelius?" he said giving the guy a smirk. " Uh... very well then, which board would you like?" he asked glaring at him. " Lets see. I'll take that one," I said pointing to a red and black Element.

" That will be $100.00 missy." he replied still eyeing the boy standing next to her. " Ahem," the boy said looking back at Cornelius. " Did I say $100.00 I meant $50.00 just because you're friends with someone who blackmails," he said this time looking at her with fear struck eyes. He handed her the Element skateboard and she gave him a fifty-dollar bill. She turned and left the store, the boy right behind her. " Thank you so much uh... " she started. " Billie Joe Armstrong at your service, what can I do for you?" he filled in and took a funny pose. " And what is your name?" " Oh, my names Trinity but everyone one calls me Trin," she answered.

" So can you board?" he asked, while eyeing the nice board she had gotten. " Nope, I just wanted to see what a skateboard was." She replied sarcastically. " Do you want to hear my band practice?" Billie asked, breaking the silence. " Uh, sure," she replied a little dazed by the fact that Billie had a band.

" Okay great. Meet me at 924 Gilman street at six, but right now I've got to go get ready," he said slowly walking away. " I'll see you later," she called out to him. Trinity took her new skateboard and headed back to the hotel. She checked into her room and thought about how tomorrow was her birthday and nobody had said anything. She shook the thought off and walked into her make shift bedroom. Looking at the clocked and sighed and the fact that it was only 5:30. She left the hotel, so she could find it on time.

She took her skateboard and ran out of the hotel. She hopped onto it and dodged the people as she went. She turned a corned that said Dream Blvd. She turned another corner and was on Gilman Street. Slowly she looked up and down the street looking for 924 Gilman Street. Finally after about ten minutes of non-stop looking she observed a building that said Gilman Club on the top.

She entered with caution and was almost trampled by dozens of people. An announcer walked up to the stage a said, " People of Gilman, are you ready for Sweet Children!" The crowd roared as three people came on stage. The boy from the skate park was there, and singing.

"This song I wrote a couple of hours ago when I met a certain girl at the skate park. It's called Going to Pasalacqua." Trinity sat up in her bed and laughed to herself. She picked up her beside phone and dialed her best friend Rebekah. " Hey Bekah what's up?" she said into the phone. " Cool same here. I was wondering if you would like to go to the Green Day concert with me? VIP passes," I told her. " Cool the concert is at 7:00 on Friday. I'll pick you up," she said and hung up.

Trinity sat at Bekah's house in a black Green Day t-shirt and black pants. "Ready," she heard Bekah scream from the top of her stairs. They walked out to Trin's black BMW convertible and got in. The whole time the only noise was Trin's new Green Day CD, " Nimrod." They pulled up to the concert hall in Mankato, Minnesota and started walking slowly toward the big doors. They had entered, and Trinity showed the guard their passes. He led them to the mosh pit. Ten minutes they would have to wait, only ten. Those ten minutes seemed like an eternity in Trinity's eyes. She couldn't wait to see Billie one more time.
