Billie Joe, How Could You?!?, chapter 10
Ollie walked up to her son's bedroom door. She listened for a while. A small smile spread out across her face. Mike and Tre looked at Ollie, then at each other.
"Oh well. Boys will be boys and girls will be girls," she said before walking back downstairs. Tre and Mike followed. They knew she was going to cook dinner and they were starving. Ollie walked into the kitchen. She got out a few t. V. Dinners and popped them into the microwave.
"Want anything to drink. That is allowed for kids your age," she said as she cut Tre off from saying beer.
"Coffee," Mike said. Tre cringed. He hated coffee. It tasted nasty and smelt bad. The only coffee he liked was an Orange Mocha Frappichino. Ollie smiled as she went to get the coffee pot. She put it on the coffee maker. Soon the black liquid started to pour into the pot, slowly.
"I guess I'll have water," Tre said. Ollie nodded and got him a water. Soon the buzzer to the microwave went off. She got out the dinners and slid them in front of the boys.
"Thamfks," they said with food in their mouthes.
Ollie nodded and started to eat as well. She started a conversation with the boys to see how everything was going with the band, school, girls, and eachother.
*Upstairs*
Billie let out a sigh. He pulled Cassie closer to him as she struggled for air. She smiled and kissed his nose.
"That... Was.. Amazing..." Billie said, also out of breath. Cassie nodded with a smile. For her in the beginning, it wasn't that much fun. It hurt alittle, but soon
The feeling past after awhile. She snuggled up to Billie, her head on his chest. He embraced her tightly, like nothing would ever come between them. He soon let go of her and sat up. He stood up and went frantically looking around the room for his boxers. Cassie giggled as she wrapped herself up in the blankets. She was freezing. Billie finally found his boxers under Cassie's shirt. He slipped them on and then glanced at her. He noticed her discomfort and threw her clothes at her. She smiled and started to slip them on.
"Can I use your eyeliner?" Cassie asked once her clothes were on.
"Sure," Billie nodded as he got his last article of clothes on, his shirt. He grabbed the small tube of eyeliner and threw it at her. She caught it and walked over into the bathroom and applied the make up. She fixed her hair also. It had been messed up a little bit. She walked downstairs, with Billie right behind her. Tre wolf whistled when they walked into the kitchen. Cassie felt her cheeks grow hot from blushing. Billie noticed his mom. His eyes went wide.
"It's okay sweety. As long as you don't get her kncoked up, I'm fine," Ollie said with a smile. Billie smiled back and took a seat. Ollie slid a dinner in front of her son. He began to eat some of it. Cassie came over to him with pleading eyes. She was hungry also. She sat on his lap and he smiled.
"Here you go," he said holding the forkfull of food in her face. Cassie smiled and ate it.
"Aww. How sweet," Tre said batting his eyelashes like a girl. Mike snickered. Cassie rolled her eyes and sighed. Ollie had finished her food. She left her room to go upstairs and take a nap. Cassie looked around the kitchen. She caught a glimpse of the clock.
"Holy shit! My mom's going to kill me! I stayed the night with out telling her. And what will she think of the fight!?! Shit, we missed school today also!" Cassie exclaimed as she got off of Billie. Thoughts of the night before poured through his mind. She was right. Her mom was going to kill her because of what he did to Ronny. Cassie ran out of the house. She came to her front door and it, hoping no one would hear her enter.
"Cassandra Maria Blake."
Damn she had been caught. Cassie turned to find her mom standing at the foot of the stairs with her arms crossed.
"Hi mom," Cassie said flashing a nervous smile.
"Don't hi mom me, young lady."
"Look I'm sorry, mom." Cassie said looking at the floor. She knew she was in a lot of trouble.
"Sorry won't cut it. You stayed at some hooligan's house and you're the reason why your brother has a busted lip, a black eye, and a broken nose. Do you know how worried I was when I found out you weren't at school today and neither were the boys you hang out with!?! From now on you're not allowed to see them anymore!" Her mom yelled at her. Cassie continued to look at the floor and she shuffled her feet.
"You look at me when I'm speaking to you!" her mom yelled smacking Cassie across the face. Cassie put her hand to her cheek and ran to her room. She locked the door and flopped down on her bed. Tears filled her eyes.
*Billie's House*
Billie poked at his food. He knew Cassie was in deep shit, and it was all his fault. He needed to see her. He needed to know if she was alright. He pushed away his food and stood up. Tre and Mike looked at him. They watched him leave the room to get Blue. He walked into the garage and sat on a ragged couch. He got out a joint and placed it in between his lips. He lit it up and tried to think of a new song to write. After about ten minutes of thinking, he gave it up. He placed Blue down and ran out of the garage. He threw the butt of the joint out into the street and walked around Cassie's house to the backyard.
He looked up at the window and saw a small light flickering in one of the windows. Part of a wall was visible and he could see The Ramones posters, The Clash posters, and The Misfit posters cluttering the wall. He knew it was Cassie's room. There was a tree in front of her window. A branch reached out to her window. He walked over to the tree and becan to climb it. He got up to the branch and slowly made it to Cassie's window. He knocked on it, only to be greeted by a crying Cassie. She opened the window and let him in.
"What happened?" Billie asked as he embraced her.
"My mom hit me," Cassie said turning her face to show Billie the mark. There was a red hand print left on her cheek. Billie placed a hand to her cheek. He kissed her soft lips. She looked up at him. Black, stained tears ran down her cheeks. Billie wiped away the smudged make up and embraced her again.
"Shh. It's okay." he said rocking her back and forth.
"No, it's not. I can't see you anymore," Cassie said crying even more.
