Giant Candy Ants, Stolen Hearts, and an Angel Named Melody, chapter 2
"Why are you down here? You're...you're beautiful..." Billie said. The angel let out a laugh that sounded like a dove singing. She blinked at Billie coyly and shook her head.
"Silly boy." Her eyes sparkled innocently and she smiled again as she turned to Mike and Tre.. she winked at the two then turned back to Billie.
"But aren't you an angel?" Billie asked. This made the angel laugh gain. She sat back down on her cloud and beckoned Billie over with a smile and a pat beside her. Billie hesitantly sat by the angel.
"Well, er're gonna, you know... see if we can escape!" Tre said and turned to leave. Mike watched Billie and the angel a second longer, then followed Tre out of the cave.
The angel smiled, gently pulled Billie's face forward, and gave him a light peck on the lips. Billie felt like the softest silk had passed by his mouth. He smiled at the angel and she began to talk. "My name is Melody. I am the angel of nature and livng-things. My mother was Mother Earth." Her voice was soft and sounded like a delicate whisper, but it was so tangible, Billie felt like he could reach out and touch it.
"But why do you choose this as your home?" Billie asked. Melody's eyes clouded with greif. Billie regretted the words as soon as he saw her look away.
"My sisters, Harmony and Autumn, were jealous of me. My beauty, my generosity, my kindness, my overall personality, everything that makes me, well, me. They bargained with the Colony and gave me 2 choices: I could be married off to my uncle, the king of the Underowrld, or live with the ants in the Colony."
Billie looked puzzled. Then an idea went off in his mind. He smiled and happiness filled his eyes. "Why don't you come live with us as a mortal?" Melody looked hurt.
"A mortal?" She scoffed. When Billie saw his plan might fail, he frowned. Melody did sort of want to leave the Colony, but they had been her only family for so long. Her sisters probably wouldn't find her as a mortal, but who knew? Word got around fast. But Melody made up her mind. She smiled again and placed her hand on Billies's, showing of naturally french-tipped nails. She batted her eyelashes and stepped off her cloud. "Alright. Let's leave." She stood and grasped Billie's hand, lightly pulling him up. She started to walk out of her cave when the cloud followed her. When Melody saw Billie's confused visage, she quickly said, "That's Sprig. she transforms into anything I need." Melody turned to the cloud, which was now in the shape of a small pup. "Sprig, I need something to eat on?" Immediately, the cloud turned into cloud-ish plates and utensils.
Billie looked at Melody in astonishment. "You can use it? The food doesn't go through her?" Melody smiled.
"You didn't go through her when you sat down, did you?" Melody laughed. "You're so cute..." She said and gave him a light peck on the cheek. It felt like a soft yet warm wind had passed by his face, which sent shivers down his spine. Melody saw a large guard ant and embraced it's head.
"Are you leaving, Lady Melody?" The ant asked in a grainy voice. She nodded then turned to Billie.
"You want to see something cool?"
