The Difference Between Me And You, chapter 1
Hey, my name is Brianna. I am a punk I am now 16 years old. It all started when I was 8. My mother was dying of breast cancer and I knew that if she left me I would have to stay with my dad. Don't get me wrong.... I loved my dad, there was just one small difference between the both of us. He demands respect, and hates sarcasm and if you don't give him respect, boy it's to the grave with you. And me.... I was a very sarcastic.... and I still am. Also, I didn't... and still don't respect adults that don't respect me.
"No mommy, no please don't leave me," I said to my mother before she died. Then she whispered to me her last words.
"Brianna, don't worry. I will always be there. Go where ever life takes you, and I will be there." Then she died.
That was the last time I ever saw my mom. after that my dad just pulled me out of the room.
My whole life was a struggle without my mom. I grew up to be a punk and grew into Green Day. they helped me get through my life. Them and my friends were the only things I had. My friends were always there for me and always said if I needed a place to run to I was always welcomed there.
Then the day I dreaded and hoped would never happened finally came when I was 11. My dad started yelling at me while we were walking out of GreyStone Learning, which is a place I go to because I am "disorganized, and "irresponsible." My dad was getting all pissed because I talked back to him. I couldn't stand it so I did the one and only thing I could do - I grabbed my wallet out of my backpack and ran. I ran and ran and ran until I couldn't run anymore. I ran to my friends house, her name was Julia but I called her Egg.
I knew I couldn't just walk through her front door and tell her mom everything. Her mom would definitely call my dad and he would whip me till I was red! So, I climbed up the back of the house to Egg's back window. She saw me as soon as I got up there.
"What the heck are you doing over here?" Egg asked me with curiosity spinning in her face.
"You said if I ever needed a place to run to I could come her, so I did!" I replied.
"Well of course you can stay you retard! What happened though?" Julia asked.
I told her all about what happened. We decided we would run away to the place we always talked about running away too, Berkeley. We would leave tomorrow morning.
