Am I your dirty little secret?!, chapter 5

Annabelle just finished the bowl of cereal. She put all the stuff away and she sat back down and she looked at Mike, he was looking down into his coffee cup.

"You don't really want me, do you?" Annabelle asked and Mike looked up.

"Of course I want you," Mike said.

"Well... if you really want me, then why are you acting like you don't even care?" Annabelle asked, looking half hurt at Mike.

"Don't take it like that Annabelle, it's just that... Well, after I gave you up, I thought I was never going to see you again," Mike explained

"So you thought I was off of your back huh?" Annabelle asked, hurt.

"No! It's not like that Annabelle... See... When I gave you up I realized that I was doing the wrong thing... and I tried to get you back once or twice, but it was too late and then your adoptive parents moved away and I couldn't find you guys," Mike explained.

"I was seventeen years old... I had no idea what I was doing," Mike said.

"But you kept your other daughter!" Annabelle said, standing up.

"You don't understand, I was older when I had her!" Mike said, "And I didn't want her to have the same fate as you, I regreted sending you away!" Mike added, standing up.

The Annabelle burst into tears. Mike stood there for a while, watching Annabelle crying.

Mike walked over to Annnabelle and he held her in a warm embrace.

"I'm so sorry," Mike whispered gently into Annabelle's ears. "I'll try not to ever do anything that might hurt you," he said.

There Mike stood with his first daughter, crying in his arms. He couldn't help but feel guilty, for giving Annabelle away, for lying to his friends, and Estelle, and everyone else.

Then it hit Mike. How was he going to hide Annabelle from Billie and Tre and everyone else, since she was living with him?
