Green Day?... Or Adrienne?, chapter 4
Rolling off of the sofa a few minutes later, Billie Joe stretched his arms above his head, his left shoulder popping as he did so.
Mmm, must be time to visit the massage therapist, Billie Joe though, lowering his arms and yawning.
Hearing the door open yet again, Billie Joe turned his head to the left, to see Jason White, backup guitarist and vocals to the band, walk into the room.
"Hey man," Jason said, nodding his chin up to Billie Joe.
"Hey, what brings you here?" Billie Joe asked, being as Jason stepped foot onto the tour bus. He usually opted for shift-driving the equipment truck with Jason Freese, he played the keyboard, accordion, and saxaphone for the band.
"Nada much, just thought I'd come hang with you cool people for a while," Jason grinned.
Billie Joe shook his head. "If you wanna hang with cool people, you're on the wrong bus," he smirked, grabbing his t-shirt off of the coffee table, which was just in front of him. "Have a seat," he said, gesturing towards the sofa.
Jason obliged, falling quite ungracefully onto the leather sofa, crossing his right ankle over his left knee and draping both arms over the back of the couch.
"Where's the Misses?" Jason asked, referring to Adrienne, as he looked around the room.
"Home, with the boys," Billie Joe called over his shoulder as he walked into the kitchen for a bottle of water.
"Ah, figured she'd be here by now," Jason remarked, moving his arms from the back of the couch to catch the bottle of Aquafina Billie Joe had thrown at him. "Thanks," he said, lifting the bottle to Billie Joe.
"Yeah, we're just having some trouble right now," Billie Joe said briefly, falling onto the sofa next to Jason, and uncapping his bottle to take a drink.
After a few moments of silence, Jason asked, "Ever looked into marriage counseling?"
Billie Joe looked over at Jason, raising his left eyebrow. "We'll be just fine. We don't need a counsler," he said, although it was mostly to reassure himself.
He didn't want to lose Adrienne. Take away his car, his money, his house, hell, take away Blue.
Just don't take his Minnesota Girl.
Or Green Day, for that matter.
He could live without everything except these two things. And that's why he hoped that Adrienne wouldn't make him choose between her and his band.
"Alright man. If you say so," Jason shrugged, sinking back into the sofa, raising his bottle to his lips.
Billie Joe chose to ignore Jason's comment, and drifted back into his own thoughts.
He was downright determined to keep both the mother of his children AND his band.
And hopefully, Adrienne would understand one of his most famous quotes; "I AM Green Day."
