Green Day?... Or Adrienne?, chapter 7

Talk to me," Billie Joe said into the phone. This was the way he always answered the phone, and Adrienne always chastised him for it.

"Billie Joe Armstrong! Why can't you just say, 'hello'? Like a normal person?" Adrienne sighed, although it was hard to hear her over the murmer of voices in the background.

"My bad. Where ya at?" Billlie Joe asked, pressing his index finger to his lips to silence Tre, who had just entered the room and was singing 'Right Here Waiting' as loud as he could.

"Aiiiiiiiiiiirport," Adrienne said innocently, and a little mysteriously.

"You comin' out to see me?" Billie Joe asked, feeling his heartbeat pick up a little.

Even after all these years, Adrienne still had that affect on him.

"Bingo," Adrienne said, and a grin was obvious in her sweet voice.

"Yay!" Billie Joe said childishly, and he caught Mike rolling his eyes out of the corner of his own eyes.

Adrienne giggled, and Billie Joe couldn't help but smirk. Adrienne had never laughed, not in the whole sixteen years he'd known her. She always giggled, and Billie Joe thought it was absolutely adorable.

"So what time's your plane comin' in? I wanna see my babyyyyyyy," Billie Joe whined into the reciever, already anxious to see his wife.

Adrienne giggled once more. "A couple hours. Around five," she replied, and Billie Joe heard the familiar scuffling sound that signaled that she was switching the phone to her other ear.

"I don't hear the boys," Billie stated curiously. "Where they at?"

"Mom's," Adrienne replied. "You were right. She'll take good care of him," she added, as always, being the first to admit she was wrong.

"Alright, I'm gonna letcha go, so you can get on that plane and get your sexy ass up here," Billie Joe smirked.

"Billie!" Adrienne chastised, although she very flattered by his comment.

Billie Joe chuckled. "I love you," he said, softly and seriously.

"I love you too," Adrienne said happily, and through the phone, Billie Joe could hear the announcement that some plane was loading.

"Ah, that's my plane. I'll see ya soon," Adrienne said, hitching her purse up onto her shoulder, and standing from her original position on the uncomfortable white airport chair.

"Kay. Later babe," Billie Joe said, then snapped his phone shut.

Adrienne shut hers as well, then headed outside to board her plane.

Two more hours to the love of my life. Two more hours to love, lust, and plenty of great sex, Adrienne though to herself, climbing up the steps.

Meanwhile, back in Barton Rouge, Lousiana, Billie Joe was thinking the same thing.

But at the same time, he frowned. This had happened quite suddenly, and Adrienne never just randomly called him from an airport, saying that she was flying out to see him. They'd always planned when she was coming out.

Did she have something up her sleeve?
