Kids In The Hall, chapter 3
"You ok, man? You're pretty fucking quiet." Mike asked Billie Joe.
"Yeah. I'm ok. Just tired." Billie Joe replied.
Tre turned and punched Billie Joe in the arm right on a large bruise Billie Joe had acquired from this morning's fall. Billie Joe 'yelped' and turned to Tre.
"You asshole! What the fuck!?!"
Tre took off down the hall, dodging some students and running right into others. Bille Joe was right after him, though, shoving people into lockers and nearly pushed a Freshmen into a trash bin. Tre was sprinting as fast as he could when he turned a corner and ran right into the Vice Principal, Mr. Hewlett, knocking his papers all over the hall. Billie Joe turned the corner and ran into Tre, knocking himself over into the water fountain.
"Damn it, Tre! You made me get my ass wet!"
Mr. Hewlett cleared his throat. Billie Joe looked up from his 'dilemma' and his face went pale. Tre was standing staring at his shoes, afraid to look the VP in his eyes. Mr. Hewlett simply glared at the two boys, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Care to inform me why you two were running down the halls?"
"We didn't want to be late to class, sir." Billie Joe replied, brushing off his damp ass.
"Oh, really? And where is your next class?" Mr. Hewlett asked, skeptical of the boys' excuse.
"Gym." Tre replied, stepping back next to Billie Joe.
"The gym is the other way, boys."
Tre turned and back-handed Billie Joe on the arm. Billie Joe nearly yelped but held it in, glaring at Tre and massaging his arm.
"I told you, Billie Joe!" Tre exclaimed, trying to cover their asses even more.
"It's the second semester, boys, and you don't know where the gym is?"
"We usually have our friend with us who tells us where to go. We have really bad directional problems."
"I see. Get to class." Mr. Hewlett stated harshly, waving the boys away with his hand. Billie Joe and Tre turned the corner just as the late-bell rang.
"Fuck. Now we really are late." Billie Joe stated.
"Yeah! And it's all your fault!" Tre exclaimed back. Billie Joe turned and punched Tre in the arm as hard as he could. Tre hollered, but knew he had deserved it.
The boys proceeded down the hall towards the gym, but turned and exited out the door right next to gym class. Mike was waiting under a tree for the others and stood when he saw them.
"The hell have you two been?!" he exclaimed.
"Chatting with the VP!" Billie Joe shouted back. "Tre ran into him when I was chasing him down the hall! Had to bullshit our way out of detention!"
Bille Joe turned to Tre and shook his head.
"You're lucky, man. I would've kicked the shit out of you."
"No you wouldn't of. Where the hell would you get another drummer?"
Billie Joe took a cigarette from its carton, smirking as he lit it.
"Yeah. That's all you're good for."
"Shut up."
"Yeah. I'm ok. Just tired." Billie Joe replied.
