Cut Up Angels, chapter 4
Jack wouldn't leave us alone and ended up coming to watch the guys practice.
"So, what are you lot called?" Jack asked.
"My Chemical Romance," Gerard answered. "This song's called 'Headfirst for Halos'"
They rocked. Frank seems to change when he's playing guitar. He gets a load of energy from nowhere really and jumps about head banging.
Jack noticed me staring at Frank and smirked.
"You like that guy don't ya!" Jack laughed as we got into the car an hour and a half later.
"Shut up Jack," I replied.
"Awww, you do!" He exclaimed. He gets like this sometimes. He was convinced that I was going out with Chase for the first year of our friendship.
"You going out with Casey yet?" I smiled as we walked into the hotel. Jack blushed and shook his head.
"Who's Casey?" Dad asked "And where've you been?"
"Casey's a friend I made at school," I explained "and we've been watching a few other mates practice in their band."
"Oh. Well I just want you to meet out newest porter: Caitlin," Dad said, a girl with blue hair and green eyes appeared by his side.
"OMG!! Caitlin!!" I shouted running up and hugging her with Jack close behind.
"I assume you know each other," dad said smiling.
"Ye, Caitlin used to live by us. She moved a few months ago and me and Ra never thought we'd see her again," Jack's turn to explain.
"How come you're working here?" I asked once dad left us.
"I've always wanted to work in a hotel," Caitlin replied.
"You have?"
"Ye. Working in a hotel = all the free shampoo and soap a girl could ask for!" she smirked making me and Jack laugh. Man I'd missed this girl.
It was now a week after I'd started school and Frank still hadn't spoken to me.
I took my place in art between Ira and Sharnee.
"Guys, d'you two know why Frank hates me?" I asked.
Ira rolled her eyes. "Frank doesn't hate you," she said. Him, Mikey, Ray and Bob hadn't arrived in class yet so we were safe to talk.
"It's so obvious he likes you!" Sharnee exclaimed as the four guys walked in and took their seats in front of us.
Frank likes me? I laughed to myself Whatever!
"Where the hell is Jack!" I thought aloud. I'd walked to Gerard and Mikey's house when school had finished after ringing Jack to tell him to pick me up at half five.
"I'll walk you home. Y'know only if you want me to."
I spun round to see Frank did he just speak to me? I asked myself.
"Well, d'you want me to walk you home?" Frank repeated.
"Err... sure," I stuttered.
We walked in silence in the pouring rain for about five minutes. I wanted to say something; I really did, but couldn't think of anything.
Surprisingly he started off the conversation "So, why would you want to move here?" he asked with a hint of a laugh in his voice.
"I had to," I replied pulling my hood up over my dark hair just as he had a few minutes earlier. "My mum died so I moved in with dad." I really didn't want to talk about mum.
"Oh," was his reply. He kicked a stone as he walked. "My dad died a few years back," he added mumbling.
"He did?"
"Uh-huh."
"Oh," was my reply. I know what it's like to have people saying they're 'sorry for your loss'. It gets annoying. "D'you have any brothers and sisters?"
"Nah, it's just me and mum nowadays," he answered as we reached the hotel.
"Thanks for walking me back," I smiled.
"S'ok," he shrugged, I turned to walk away. "Raven? Wait."
"Ye?" I asked turning round to face him again.
He blushed "O... it doesn't matter."
"So, what are you lot called?" Jack asked.
"My Chemical Romance," Gerard answered. "This song's called 'Headfirst for Halos'"
