Reincarnation, chapter 4

I took a shower for the third time that day. Everything that had happened now felt like a dream, but then again, it still felt so real. I got weird stares from lots of people that day.

"Hey Adie, what's up? You've been all shaky." asked Kait, another good friend of mine. She put her hand on my shoulder as I shook my head and tapped a finger on the desk.

"Nope, it's just that time of the month, you know?" I said, trying to make an excuse. She sighed, smiled, and nodded. She looked at her blank sheet and sighed again. She looked back up to me.

"Hey Adie, when did you get that necklace?" she asked. I gulped. How was I going to explain this? I sighed and smiled.

"Uh, the gifts shop at the hospital." I said, doing my best to not sound suspicious. She nodded and smiled. She looked at it one more time before going back to her studies.

The class ended and we had the rest of the day to ourselves. I decided to go to Zoe's dorm and talk to her for awhile, because I haven't talked to her much lately. I hurried up to her room and knocked. Zoe's roommate, Dee, opened the door. She smiled at me and let me in.

"Hey, what's up? Zoe is calling her parents, she should be done soon." She said, sitting down on her bed. I smiled and shrugged.

"Nothing much, I'm just bored and angry today, so I decided to hang out. What's up with you?" I asked, tracing the designs of Zoe's abstract quilt with my finger. Dee smiled and nodded.

"Nothing much here either, except the fact that Zoe wasn't talking about Josh as much. That's weird." She said and nodded to herself. "That girl is so hopelessly in love."

I smirked and nodded. I heard a phone click and Zoe came back in the room. She smiled when she saw me and plopped down beside me.

"What's up?" she asked. I shrugged.

"Nothing, what about you?" I asked, tapping on the bed. She smiled and clasped her hands together.

"Josh asked me out." She squealed and got off the bed and started jumping around. I smirked; I was glad that she was this happy. Ever since Larsson cheated on her, she hasn't been the same.

"That's great." I said, giggling at her antics. She smiled and sat down on the bed. She laid down and sighed dreamily. She giggled again and sighed.

"I just love him so much, you know?" she said, biting one of her fingernails. I nodded. Zoe has been in love with him since god knows how long.

"Yeah, I know." I said and smiled. Then I frowned. What if she found out about our bet? She'd hate me forever. I then shook that thought out of my head. She wouldn't find out. We talked for a bit and said our farewells and I was off.

I was walking back to my dorm, with the chain of my whiter gold necklace in my mouth. I unlocked the door and set my bags down. I slowly sipped my coffee that I had just bought at the little cafe at the end of the street.

I looked around the room to find something to keep me occupied. All I found was the magazines Zoe left in here earlier. I slowly leafed through the pages. I stopped on a page that said Green Day. At the right corner was a picture of Billie Joe Armstrong with his arms around me, I mean Adrienne, with a quote at the bottom.

"Adrienne is the only woman I will ever love."
